As far as guns go: either everyone has access or noone has access. I prefer freedom of choice and not regulations that tell me I cannot own a firearm.

In the latter scenario there have to be strict measures taken to ensure the Columbines cannot be repeated. Safe-zones maybe. If you allow access to firearms you are inevitably going towards invasive checkpoints at every public access building like schools. That would be the price for freedom. Maybe even additional GPS tracking for every legal weapon built into the firearm itself. If you are a straight shooter this should not concern or worry you. If however you stockpile and come 100 yards near a public building an alert goes off in that building. Or something.

I don't see anyone going on a killing spree with slingshots btw. Or crossbows.
