Is it already Dark on about 5 PM in the Middle / South of USA?

wisc here and about 4:30 is when it gets dark quickly.

Hi there, so you mean that on 4:30 is already dark so it begins to get dark in about @ 4:15?

In N TX...It is dark here by 5:30

OP,the winter solstice is the shortest day of the year. Been that way a while. Nothing out of the ordinary.

It is normal for it to get dark around 5pm this time of year in the southern states.

Who cares about that. You don't notice how its a blinding bright white anymore. 15 years ago it was calm peaceful yellow. Its too intense now.

Not really, Its in about 5.30 PM

It has seemed brighter outside for a while now...Looked at the sun thru clouds & sun glasses yesterday...It was a white ball of light...Sooo...When did it change?...

I'd say for at least a month now its been this intense.

I cant even look in the general direction without squinting my eyes and a 30 second headache. I think it all has to do with this 26,0000 year orbit were about to complete.
Or our sun is not interacting with the coming galactic superwave that they say won't be here for 100 years ..."cough" ....a few days.

For example in Austin Texas, The sun sets @ 5.33 PM, SO the sky should be dark at least 20 min later.

it gets dark about 525-535 here in west texas, but the other day we got a bad wind storm and then a little thunderstorm and it was about 545 when they passed and about 6 the sun was beginning to set. weird.

in NC it starts to get dark around 5 but isnt really dark till about 6

Man you can't really make the connection between the sun being extremely bright white and intense, and it being lighter longer than usual.

eastern time zone north georgia,5:30 sunset,dark before 5:55.

I am in Nebraska and the sun starts going down around 3:30 and it is dark by 4:30.

It looks like sun is setting later each day instead of earlier as it should. It should be setting earlier until the 21st and then after staying up longer. Weird.

It also depends if the sky is clear or cloudy. When cloudy it appears dark sooner.

Its rising later, setting later. So whats your point/
