Also, and perhaps this is the place to bring it up....years ago I ran across a channeling from 'Gaia.' The gist being that ALL SUFFERING AND ALL PROBLEMS ARISE FROM EGO.

It is very simple. It is not guns, or money, or 'vices;' the misuse of energy all stems from grasping and repulsion based on personal, ego-driven attachment.

Yes, that was the teaching of Gautama Buddha as well. Suffering takes place within the inner self and can be overcome by the inner state of Nirvana.

This is a truth. I call it the herd mentality. People shop in droves. Also they are beholden to do things at certain times or within a limit of time, further driving that herd mentality. This is why you will see people all come up to a counter at the same time. This is also why when there is an item of interest-say with a limit on the amount can be sold-you will see all sense leave the herd as they stampede to be the first person to the item. They may not even really want the item, or not necessarily need the item, but because everyone is trying to get the item they feel they need to have it.

You will find this truth in trends too and it has a lot to do with conformity and fear. People are afraid to be different. They feel a strong need to conform in order to feel love. If they just embraced who they are, no matter how strange or different, they would have love, always.

Then whats really messed up is when there are those that define love by those who only obey and mold into there system. The group of people that think very highly of themselves and create a system in which people have to conform by - and if not they are outcasts, and social situations change. I see this too often amongst people - most of them being the Christian community - and I'm a Christian.

PRIDE is king within the system. But they'll tell you to your face they mean well.

Sep....do you do tibetan dream yoga at all?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30107351

I fully mastered it back in...2007 or so. I accomplished all the master techniques within about a week except for one. That one was multiplying (cloning) myself to cover the entire dreamscape. I tried and tried, night after night for about 2 weeks. Then, bam, I accomplished it. I won't go into the details of the lucid dream, but I found that you do not multiply your body image and consciousness, you only duplicate your body image. When I did that, I could transfer my consciousness through any adjacent body image. I could do it extremely fast, racing around in and through all these body doubles of me. It was crazy.

It's called, The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep.

Yes, I have had my copy for decades. :) There is a follow-up book to it as well, I posted it on my dreaming group on facebook recently.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'lucid dreaming,' -not to be confused, I am well aware of WHAT lucid dreaming is, it's just that I also know there is far more to the work than just 'conscious control'- the Tibetan Dream Yoga focuses on 'clear light dreaming,' of which I have only done once, but it was amazing!!!

I do not try to control my dreams lucidly anymore, I tend to be of the school of 'active dreaming.'

Since I am aware so often in my dreams, I have tried everything I can think of while on the other side.

That's a scary thought. Especially in today's world where internet has everyone connected with everyone else.

It's not so bad thinking outside the herd, after all:)
 Quoting: Earth Daughter

Hey Earth Daughter!

hi It's SS.

That is the problem with change, especially massive change. It causes disruptions and creates a lot of unknown variables. The unknown is what causes fear.

I usually do not quote movies, but this is a great quote about 'fear'.

"If we are going to survive this, you must realize that fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Now, do not misunderstand me; danger is very real. But fear is a choice.
"Do you know where we are?
"This...is Earth."

(from the movie: After Earth)
 Quoting: Septenary Man

Hi SS! I'm glad you are still around posting:) I've missed your threads.

And yes, fear is a choice, but it is also a disease. It spreads so easily. Just when I think I've mastered it, I realize that it is still there at some level.

I think what is needed is to step back and put everything into a greater perspective.
 Quoting: Earth Daughter

The trick is to not let the fear control you.

When I was a child, I grew up in a natural environment...out in the woods all day every day, no electric, off-grid, sustainable life...and I discovered a truth I called 'Is-ness.' that Nature and the Universe were not in judgement of the perils or joys of existence, all in Nature simply IS. It is the human condition at this time. Technologies like we have are 'brand new' and exciting, along with being inundated 24/7 by media that wants us to buy and see how great all of it is.

IMO, this is a stage, and when a time comes when science and spirituality truly merge, we will go back to shamanistic ways as the technology will rely on consciousness.

This! It's why people can stand and cheer on a bully who is beating down some unfortunate. As long as it ISN'T them...they'll go along for any ride and that's pretty sad. No one has kahunas any more, no one will stand up for the truth because they fear the ramifications of, as you state, standing out and being different because then they might become the one being beaten down.

We are a sad, pathetic and cowardly bunch.

Once upon a time there was pappa bull and his little son bull.
One day they were standing atop of a hill over looking a valley of a herd of 50 female heffer's. The little bull got all excited and started jumping up and down saying "daddy, daddy, lets run down there fast and fuck one of them heffer's"
