so you want to set and watch 23 hrs of footage from a camera pointing at a door where no-one go in or out of??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28228272

We want to see ALL of the footage from EVERY CCTV camera on the property on the day of the shooting.

Would that be too much to ask?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30244341

Do you realize how much data that is??? likely over 200gigs...

Chances are there is little or NO usable video footage...I've tried explaining this in several threads here but just get called a SHILL....If you want to know, I'll tell you, but I ain't gonna put up with any "Shill BS"...let me know
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28228272

Okay. Tell us why there's no usable CCTV video footage.

posted this in Salt's thread:

I work for the local school district, one of the top 50(in size) of the USA...for awhile I ran the Audio/Video department that was also tasked with Installation & Maintenance of all the Video Surveillance systems....

The probable cause of there being no video is that there "is NO" video to be seen...by that I mean, there were likely no camera(s) aimed at the areas of the school where the shootings took place...

Here we are only mandated to cover the following in a Elementary school:

2 PTZ's (Pan,Tilt,Zoom)cameras, one at the front and back of the school covering the parking lots.

1 at the front entrance

1 in the front office

1 in the cafeteria

and that's it

so if Sandy Hook is anything like us, there is likely no video footage to view....

I can't count how many times I or my guys have been called to a school by Law Enforcement wanting us to "Retrieve" the footage off the DVR, only to find the camera in question was pointing just a little to the left or right of the "action"
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28228272

YOU WORK FOR THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.

That's very interesting.

So how exactly did a guy THAT WORKS FOR THE NEWTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT just happen to come upon this little forum?

And what exactly inspired you to rush to the defense of the "government" and the Newtown school district in regards to the total lack of video evidence of this shooting?

Have any local or national news organizations contacted you in regards to this situation?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30244341

Jeeze You are the weakest link"....MY LOCAL SCHOOL DIST...just google "top 50 school districts in the USA" pick one...hint you won't find Sandy Hook in the list

question, do you happen to have your kid near so they can translate this info to you...cause you got a "short" between your keyboard and the chair you are sitting in.

why praytell would you release video footage from a camera(s) that are pointing in direction that saw nothing?

the problem is that most people have been conditioned to think there is a camera on "every" street corner

FWIW, I would like to see the footage myself, him at the door, him entering the main hall...anything of relevance...
but being in the "Surveillance field" working with DVR's & Cameras gives me a little different perspective on this matter...I just don't think they have anything of "Value"...sorry

"Another consideration is, if you leave a panning camera on a constant pan or a programmed tour, the camera constantly creates video motion, which greatly reduces the recording time and increases your review time. A double whammy!

If you leave a security camera on a constant pan or tour and an alert occurs, you may need to review hours of video hoping the camera recorded the incident even though it is possible the camera was pointed in the wrong direction at a critical time.

For example, I saw a recording of a man raising a hammer to a car window as the camera panned by. Did he break into the car? You bet he did.

Would he be convicted in a court of law? Not likely!

Panning can destroy continuity necessary for a charge or a conviction."

So why do businesses, school districts, and the Pentagon even bother installing CCTV cameras on their properties then?

Since they're totally worthless and never manage to capture anything of value.

Do you realize that your kind of reasoning would classify you as someone suffering from clinical paranoid delusions ?

So according to your logic, the government has to prove to you personally what everyone else knows to be the truth, and not only that but you demand that they specifically provide you with the type of evidence you demand, that being video of the shooting, or else You’re %100 convinced that it’s a great big government conspiracy.
That is the definition of paranoid delusions.

There is an unspoken rule that the citizens of this world are not permitted to see photographic evidence of mass murder. Just accept it, and be a good mind controlled slave, don't question authority in these matters. Thank you.
