What have you adjusted to?
We all adjust to our surroundings. Humans are adaptable. But what are we adjusting to?

When I lived in one country I had to switch my mobile phone carrier to the one the police used so that it wouldn't get shut off constantly when they turned off area communication during their constant raids.

It was just a mobile carrier. All I was was a t-mobile (or whatever) customer. And yet what it meant was I had adapted to a police state.

When I shop I try to stick to farmer's markets and organic.

That just makes me a farmer's market and health conscious consumer, but what am I adjusting to? I'm adjusting to poisoned foods: irradiated fruits and chemical filled meals.

To the world I'm just a t-mobile customer that likes local foods. But the fact is I am those things because I have attempted to work around an aggressively toxic and dangerous environment.

How many things have we normalized by adjusting to them?

Intelligence is defined as the ability to adapt. It's an ongoing process in my own life and in the lives of most, imo

The stalk which bends is the stalk which survives. Sometimes termed 'compromise'. But then, necessity is the mother of invention after all, and 'invention' applies also to reinvention of self and attitudes, particularly as we travel through each age and phase of our lives

Adapting to different nations, cultures and languages

Adapting to living in the hub of a major city after living in a beachside tourist centre

Adapating to pavement rather than sand

Adapting to toxic air rather than clean sea breezes

Adapting to marriage, parenthood

Adapting to increasingly older age groups

Adapting to petty corruption on daily basis when one is inherently straightforward and fair in dealings

Adapting to low-quality, mass-produced asian imports in place of formerly high-quality, locally produced

Adapting to ruthless planned obsolescence when one was accustomed to reliability and longevity

Adapting to increasing narcissistic shallowness and artificiality which has replaced former emphasis on character and genuineness

Innumerable instances and ongoing

Feeling out of place yet?
At what point will you? I suppose we will see.
I'm feeling terribly out of place, and time. But that is OK too.

Life in a small town. Where it matters how you treat people because they are your neighbors and even strangers you will see again, in the grocery store, or the feed mill, the doctors office, everywhere.

In a large town everyone is a stranger so it doesn't matter how you treat them you'll probably never see them again.

It's nice.

Re: What have you adjusted to?
Yep.

In order to live safely, relatively, in a fucked up world.

You must climb and change and work.

For health.

not for getting any thing extra.

Just to not lose what you were born with.

We call this Satanic.

It's not helpful.

It kills your population through various means.

Then they tell you it's for your own good because there are too many of you.

Know one realizes what's happening. And most people suffer and die as slaves.

Always felt too full on three meals per day. And there were always snacks. Now I eat two meals and two small snacks. Feel much better and have lost weight. I just make sure I get enough protein each day.
