Get them out of public schools, keep them off of the T.V., keep them away from video games, get them out of the city and into the country, teach them how to live on and with the land...

I took my 17 year old daughter to "The Hunger Games." She sat through the film fine. I was very disturbed by that movie. Kids killing kids is some of the darkest energy on earth. The film has become like reality here now with parents and adults sacrificing their children and training them to fight for survival and then feeding off that energy using media. I don't want to be a part of the dystopian world depicted in The Hunger Games. I had an in depth discussion with my daughter after the film about her thoughts.

she cried hard.

we talked about it at good length.

Adam was home schooled in high school because of difficulties in school. I have heard that he had an altercation with teachers at that school a day or so before the killings. One of the teachers did not go to school that day, so she was spared. I am wondering if we will ever find out from her what the problem was with these elementary school teachers he killed....????

We're fucked because we're being raised by children. I'm 25, raised by Boomers, and I wonder what is the fucking point of this every single day ¬_¬

"These soft, fruity baby boomers are raising a generation of soft, fruity children"

If you elders want to help your children - do us a favour and OUT the politicians, CEO's, and other assorted cocksuckers you shared a classroom with at school. YOU ARE THE ONES WHO RUN THE WORLD.

What the fuck are we young people supposed to do when idiot selfish baby boomers still run everything? You're so self absorbed you think the world needs saving, that we the children need saving, when infact all that needs to happen is for you to get the fuck out the way. Just die already.

The removal of God and life centered around Him and His teachings is the core issue and the reason for all the troubles in the world.

When Jesus returns, there will be no more trouble because the new world will be centered around Him and Holiness.

That is the problem with the world....no God.

I agree. I had the fear of God in me. Not that I was ever violent, but we had prayer, and were warned about sinning. Besides, if you misbehaved in school, you were sent to the principal's office. The principal was always a male with a paddle in his office. You never wanted to go there.

Gosh...when I was growing up and all through high school, the worst anyone did was play practical jokes in school....and the jokes were so harmless. Noone was bullied.
Noone used drugs or alcohol....that I know of. I was shocked when I found out that one of my best friends in high school smoked cigarettes! Geez...I must be old! lol

I have always taught mine to ride, shoot straight, and speak the truth.

I will continue doing so, although to be fair my wife teaches them riding and vet care for all the animals, I teach them marksmanship, woodcraft and self defense/self reliance.

They never needed to be taught to speak the truth, that just follows naturally from the above...

No, not all kids are like that which is why I go out of my way to recognize a young person that I see doing good. I have 4 grown kids and they are all functioning members of society, not perfect but they are great.

I didn't really censor them but would talk about what things they did see. It's impossible to hide them from everything. Growing up we did not discuss sex, it was forbidden.

Kids need guidance now more then ever. I also have to agree that the one parent household has changed things. I did it and it was very difficult, I would have loved to have the male figure around, it makes a difference.
 Quoting: geminilion

I did it too. Not easy on your own. But it might even be better than with that male figure around.
Ofcourse I missed someone too. It depends on if that person would be a loving father or a father who walked away after a few years.
Better ONE loving parent than two fighting...

You raised four on your own?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28057136

Honestly I have to agree with you there. My dad was a violent alcoholic and mad our lives miserable, did a lot of damage and I am sure if he wasn't in the picture we would have been a lot happier and not have all of the awful memories but it was very difficult for woman back then to survive on their own.

I raised them on my own starting after their dad discovered crack. I worked two jobs most of the time...my mom helped me out a lot.

Wanted to add that when my youngest was in 1st grade the school suggested I put him on meds. He glued the legs of his desk to the floor because it was lopsided and moving around. Hell no!

There was no such thing as ADHD when I was in school. There were always one or two kids that were little more exuberant or would misbehave but that usually got solved by teachers and parents working together.

At 18 I decided never to have kids in this world.

I am 49.

On occasion, I use to regret my decision....in my early 30s.

NOW, I am so glad I never had a kid.

I saved myself from years of worry about so many things....

vaccinations, education, the list is long.

I feel I made a good decision seeing this kind of weird evil shit hole a kid has to grow up in today.

My children are the best things in my life. At first I tried the career thing/mom thing. Then bam! My employer said something and that was it. I got another job, less stressful- not full time and my family is first. As long as we are happy, healthy and together- that is all that matters. We could be homeless under a bridge but as long as we are family then it is okay.
