The whole situation is rather obscure.

We do know for a fact though that their systems of astronomy we're light years ahead of where they should have been.

Yet at the same time, they still performed human sacrifices..

The parallels between our current society and theirs at the end of their society are shocking. The elitists of the Mayas were the ones that hijacked their culture and instituted the practice of human sacrifice in order to maintain power over the people. Have we (the US) not resorted to the same tactics on a much more massive scale?

How many wars and innocents have been killed in the name of "freedom" in the last ten years alone? One million dead Iraqi souls cry out the truth of the corruption of our ruling class. How many deaths will be enough to sate their lust for blood?

Umm, technically the sun is god.

It is pure energy and is the nucleus to the cell we call our solar system.

Being killed, or "Sacrificed" by the Maya, was the ultimate experience and brought their soul to "God". It wasn't some frowned-upon stigma of society it was how your/their soul transcended into Eternity....

Also, if the Mayans were so insightful so as to be able to predict the end of the world, how come they couldn't predict their own civilization's demise?

But they were very far ahead of us in every regard.

People think technology is what will make us invincible. Its actually quite opposite.

Its sole purpose was to make things easier. When things are easy, we are easily controlled.

As for sacrifice, it wasn't forced. The people wanted it. If they won in sacrifice situations, they were sacrificed. It was a way of releasing ones energy.

I can't say it was right. I don't know. But it wasn't what we see today. It was a celebration. People then knew death was another step in life.

They were light years ahead of us in spiritual maters, and understood energy in ways we could not imagine. The coulture shifted rappedly in ways very similar to ours today.

i think their sacrificial ways were what undid their civilization. but that does not mean their technologies were hocus-pokus.

and if we don't change our ways, we will end up the same as the mayan's civilization. to me, the whole 2012 thing is a spiritual rebirth of the human consciousness and conscience than it is the end of the physical world.

i would say most knowledgeable preppers are so because they want to protect themselves and love ones from the other crazies who uses the opportunity to go crazy because of the "hey, if the world is going to end, let's let loose" mentalists.
