I can tell you all now, if a mag 10 eq hit London, it would demolish everything, as a matter of fact London has been hit before in the past and it will not be long before another one does strike, not a mag 10 but more like a mag 5, even at that level there would be massive damage. The buildings in London are in bits, old and non maintained, the old red bricks in some areas contain a high sulphur content, depending on where the clay comes from. This sulphur in the brick reacts with the rain and causes serious erosion. Now if responsible building owners lived up to their responsibility and treated the bricwork, there would not be a problem, however we are talking about people who would rather put profits over peoples lives. I have seen bits of brick and stone fall off buildings on to the streets below, now if there was a eq the place would be destroyed.
