Therefore, the fact that he had it was probably widely known. Shoot, I've even seen parents bring in slide shows to "educate" staff and students about the disorder so that the teachers and other kids would know what to expect and would be more apt to accept the child. |

Newtown, CT is a small town of oh....27,000 That may be so in a large town. Not so in a smaller town. I live in a town of 50,000 that is very conservative (and mormon). They don't accept kids that don't fit into the norm especially if they are "different" or "non-mormon", it just isn't like bigger cities. It isn't like what you see or experience, everywhere else! I was listening to psychiatrist Dr. Peter Breggin on Coast to Coast last week and he is of the opinion that it is psych. meds pushing kids over the edge. Not every kid, of course. He did, however, say that new research is pointing to evidence that some kids are deficient in an enzyme needed to metabolize the drug. This leads to the drug building up in the bloodstream at levels that are way too high. |
