Peace on Earth--Will We Ever Have It?
I just watched a tribute video to the victims of Sandy Hook.

Beautifully done, but too much sadness for me.

The song that played in the background is one of my favorites, by Casting Crowns.

"I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"

What is odd, is most of today I've had that question on my mind:

Will there ever be Peace on Earth?
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7

Fuck no! Too many people want power and control over others and are willing to do anything to obtain it.

"And in despair I bowed my head: “There is no peace on earth,” I said;
“For hate is strong, and mocks the song of peace on earth, good will to men.”

the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

Perhaps. We have to be very tactical about it. Things are not so gloom as they seem. If we do not achieve peace on the planet we will never be able to make technology and societies perfect enough to start purifying the athmosphere. Neither will we achieve all the great goals we have set that will eliminate the need to pollute at all. So we will die out anyway.

First of all you have to find peace within your own country to make it work.

Re: Peace on Earth--Will We Ever Have It?
Peace is more elusive than we think. Author C. David Coates wrote an eye opening poem which, like a mirror, exposes us to truths we may not wish to see. Here is a slightly modified version of that poem.

"Aren't humans amazing? They kill wildlife - birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.

Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.

So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.

Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.

Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and then plead for 'Peace on Earth.'"

The good news is that anyone can break this cycle of violence. Each of us has the power to choose compassion. Please visit these websites to align your core values with life affirming choices: [link to veganvideo.org] & [link to tryveg.com]
