I'm freaked out about this, have a look at Australia on google maps, there's NOTHING out there!

I live north of where the video was taken ie where the glow would be located...and there was definitely no large fires, stadium lights or anything of the sort. Also the sky was starry and clear

Looks like a fire..BUT..It seems to be pulsing in a regular rhythm. it is a shame we do not have a better vid..Strange indeed..

Fire is the most logical explanation. I don't see why NASA should tell us about a fire in Perth Australia.

Saw the same thing in Northeast Texas to the southwest couple of nights ago.

this fire was at 7am.... the video is at midnight, so i doubt it is the same event.

I live in rocko too and seen this last night , it was a bizzar night , the moon set early and it should have been pitch black out but it was like the whole sky was illuminated . was a glow coming from the sky were the sun normally rises to the SE

You're right! News should be full of this, because small bush fires are very rare events in Australia during the summer months.

I've noticed this in Canada, too. Only it's golden coloured.

Hmm..
At the 2:31 mark.. what is that ball of light on the right side of the screen? A street lamp... the moon?
What ever it is, it is there part of the video and gone at other times in the video.
Also notice what ever it is, the reflection of it is also "flickering".
Have no idea what this is but by observing the light reflection flickering i would assume the flickering is like the other poster suggested... the auto focus adjusting over and over.
I have an HTC phone that does the same thing.
Btw.. im not shilling this post, only commenting on personal experience of the flickering effect.
