There may be disasters in some places, like a volcano erupting or a bad earthquake. Or a simple power failure. The one thing that is sure to be on the 21st is Wintersolstice (shortest day of the year). Rest is speculation. 24th in Sweden. Sweden had Saint Lucia for solstice? In old times it was December 21 or 22. Pagan Latvian Ziemassvetki and Lithuanian Kucios+Kaledos were also during this time. Different pagan calendars were matched differently with Julian calendar (or during different times). Now we have 24th Kucios and 25th Kaledos as a result. |
