Some of our cats are going CRAZY!

Cat refuses to go out again today and it's beautiful out.

Cats are still acting weird here. Dogs outside won't shut up. But it's lesser than yesterday or the day before. It seems to have calmed down. And as I write this suddenly the sun is shining on my face.

How are your animals acting today?

Two cats 2yr olds fighting and running around at times like they are they are scared - easily spooked right now

My 2 cats are weird at the moment, one usual goes of for days, but has been staying close to home, the other today never fights or meow unless im feeding it. today it sat there and cried as though there was a tom cat in front of it looking for a fight, its like this cat is seeing something else and is guarding the home like a dog something it never does.

Hmmm...out of all the posts about strange things that animals are doing i think the one about the chickens not laying eggs is the most telling.

Chickens are creatures of habit and not laying could mean allot of things..but i know first hand, because i used to raise allot of chickens on a small farm we had, is that they usually stop laying if they don't get enough water at feeding time ..or they are scared of something, like a weasel or some animal trying to get into the chicken coop.

I also noticed over the years they sometimes stop laying before a big storm comes in..sometimes days before.

That one post out of them all made me take notice..something could be up.

Let's see... well, one cat has been using the hallway as a racetrack, zooming from the bedroom, down the hall, skidding across the floor. She did that for a good hour or so this evening. Now, 2:50am here, the other cat has been climbing the walls, meowing incessantly, knocking over clocks and anything else on the desktop and WILL NOT STOP.

my black cat (about 13 years old), has started acting stangely this week. At night, she is aggressively needy for attention, but won't sit in my lap longer then 30 seconds. She sits near me and just stares at me, even my husband who usually ignores the cat, says she is acting pretty weird.

This morning she started on me again, but has found her basket and blanket and hopefully has settled down for the day. She is an indoor cat, we live in Michigan.

She also has a reduced appetite. Hoping it will pass and that she is not sick again, she has a special diet of thyroid fixing food (from the vet), because I over fed her her first 11 years and she got too fat.

This will kill a cat but we have it under control now.

She is driving me nuts.

My want to get her thyroid checked again. She may need to go on medication.

i think i will, my daughter works for a vet and she can take her with her. At least to get a blood draw to see if her numbers are okay.

My cat just went batshit and jumped all over the place meowing. She keeps looking around at stuff and looking out the window.

Then she took a shit and went to sleep.

^^^This sounds like overstimulated thyroid from her food, going from hypo to hyper.
So you might question your vet's judgement about this.

All you have to do is feed her 1/2 cup of regular food 2xday and fresh water at all times. Keep the measuring cup in her bag of food handy and your cat will lose weight.

I have used the spice Thyme as a nice alternative to Catnip...it mellows them out more and they don't get as hyper. I rub some on their scratching post and they love it.
