So yep, I couldn't imagine a scenario where I'd choose to leave them behind. Lol yeah I can't say mine are the brightest either but I agree with the hunting and I know they'll defend me (unless the doom involves being hassled by the local branch of Jehovah witnesses, for some strange reason, they fail to scare these lads off). When there is no more food, I may put them down and bury them. I wouldn't eat them, I would move on to a fema camp and let them kill me. Better then starving to death. |

Woulda.... The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. |

In a worst case scenario, they can safely take to the skies but I'll keep them as long as I can feed them. I know the quakers will be ok. They are very adaptive (Brooklyn Parrots), the pineapple GCC may not make it on his own. The dogs are my hubbys and I tease that we will eat them first but I could never do that. I guess when food runs out, let them loose too. The cat is a skilled little hunter so she will be fine. Poor fishies, I would dump in the lake but they will be eaten I am sure. |

Whatever doom it may be, something has happened which pretty much spells the end of everyone's modern living habits. You realize survival will be bleak, and you rush to grab your pets. Do you say goodbye and run off? Do you euthanize your pets? Do you leave them home with food/water all over the entire floor of your house/apt and then leave? Do you just bring them with you and hope they survive? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21062266 ??? Me, I would bring my rabbit with me. She probably has a higher survival rate than me, despite her being 11 years old (like 80 in bunnies years). But I can't imagine how people like my mum would fare (having 15 cats and a dog). My beautiful little friend of 23 years passed away a year ago last October so that is not a consideration for me. When I lost him it nearly killed me off. He was a beautiful long haired black cat. His nose and lip leather were also coal black. The only thing that was not black were his exquisite light green eyes. He was magnificent and he knew it. Very full of himself he was but also very loving. I miss him so much. |
