Unwanted access to my computer
When i booted my PC today, Adobe's update popped up.
It isn't in my start-ups and i couldn't find in msconfig.exe as a service.

Does anybody know, how i can prevent Adobe having access to my system from happening ?

I am using Microsoft Vista.

Thanks.

Re: Unwanted access to my computer
Look for Adobe_Updater.exe and AdobeUpdaterInstallMgr.exe
They are usually found under program files/common files/Adobe

Put them in your recycle bin, or rename the file extension from exe to just x. Make a note somewhere of what you did so if you want to change it later, you'll remember.

If you have no problems after a couple weeks, delete it permanently. Even if you do have problems, you can always download Adobe again.

There are a few other files associated with their update function if you want to hunt for them, but this should do it.

People use things like "java drive bys" and "adobe drive bys" when you visit a site, it will look like a legit update but it will be wrapped in malware. Try to find it in your task manager and kill it

Update it, and choose from list....Do not download and install updates automatically, or my prefer, Let me choose which updates to install.

Nothing wrong about updates, unless it's from Nvidia...they once released an update that didn't have control over GPU fans and many cards went kaput from it.
