PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Since the tragedy unfolded in Newtown Connecticut, gun control has been in the news. Now there is the very first indication of changes in public opinion.

It is a nationwide survey conducted by CBS News in the last three days and it shows that, since the mass murder, there is a new majority favoring a tougher form of gun control.

I'm not sure what you're on about...Automatic weapons have been banned here since before I was born.
And if you must know, I can pursue my daily life without fear BECAUSE I have a gun. I know that, if anyone comes in my home with intent to harm me, I'll be able to defend myself without having to rely on the police.

The police are always minutes away, but it takes seconds for someone to come into your house and end you.
