In March 1996, a 43-year-old man named Thomas Hamilton walked into a primary school in this central Scotland town of 8,000 people and shot to death 16 kindergarten-age children and their teacher with four legally held handguns. In the weeks that followed, people in the town formed the Snowdrop campaign — named for the first flower of spring — to press for a ban on handguns. Within weeks, it had collected 750,000 signatures. By the next year, the ban had become law. [link to www.washingtonpost.com] |

As the funerals of the victims continue, key elected officials have declared that Americans can no longer ignore the fact that the country's constitutionally protected right to gun ownership is exacting a terrible toll. The worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history happened in 2007, when 32 people were killed by a disturbed student at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute [link to www.rferl.org] |

There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.", Thomas Jefferson. |

Quoting: Elsabiades... 28025858 ![]() You live in a Constitutional Republic???? Let me fix that for you: We LIVED in a Constitutional Republic or how about: We live in a Crony capitalist elitist society. I don't understand you guntards and all that, but your whole constitution is ripped to shreds. Maybe you should have done more to help all the libtards with their OWS. Now you have the majority of the people who are afraid of guns bullied by TPTB and have lost their rights to peaceful protest, do you really think they are going to support the 2nd? As strong 'advocates' of the constitution you should have stood up for anyone who was defending the constitution, but you didn't. Payback is a bitch. |

Whatever the NRA says, guns kill, and automatic guns kill more effectively Quoting: Limpan I'm not sure what you're on about...Automatic weapons have been banned here since before I was born. And if you must know, I can pursue my daily life without fear BECAUSE I have a gun. I know that, if anyone comes in my home with intent to harm me, I'll be able to defend myself without having to rely on the police. The police are always minutes away, but it takes seconds for someone to come into your house and end you. -GooGooFlexy- |
