Infections in the head and neck are nothing to mess with, OP. You really should goto a real physician ASAP.

Meanwhile, I suggest you take some Ibuprofen to relax your seized up jaw. I realize its not natural, but it works. Also, sometimes a warm heating pad or warm water pack near the area can help relax the muscles and ease some of the pain.
Chamomile tea is a mild relaxant you could try.

Sometimes a mild antihistamine will help with glandular issues (if thats the cause of the swelling). Ginger has natural antihistamine qualities, fresh is best- either added to tea or a few thin slices placed inside your cheek.

If the problem is glandular drainage, you can apply lemon or orange oil to the skin on and around the area to aid the drainage.

I knew of some Amish folks that also swore by placing sliced beets on swollen glands of the throat covered by a warm towel...replacing the beet slices when their red color changes to green. I had this done for me as a child once, and it did seem to help a little.

If you have any lemon balm or Melissa tea on hand, that can help fight off infection. Then of course there is the old immune booster standbys- orange juice, blueberries, and garlic...not eaten together of course.

Hope you feel better soon, OP.
