If we're ever going to have any kind of rational discussion about this, we need to all be on the same page on what we're actually talking about. If you insist on being part of these threads about gun control, at least educate yourself first so you don't look like a complete idiot.

It was the second amendment. This amendment is on the top of the list of our bill of rights. It is about the citizen,the common man, to have enough fire power to fight the government if need be. Guns in homes DO stop crimes. A few months ago a 90 year old vet from my hometown shot a robbing thug as he was making his way down to the room the old-timer was staying in.

Anyways, it's a pain in the ass getting a gun legally in America. We've already got "gun control". Look up the stats though, the majority of gun crimes were committed with firearms that were acquired illegally.

I was referring to the recent case where an off-duty cop broke into a person's house with the intention of robbing them.
Murder is not okay, protecting yourself from people with unknown motives is.

Of course. A person breaking into your home is a violent criminal, and should be dealt with as such.
