Message Subject Bill O'Reilly : "Nobody Needs An Assault Rifle"

For once I almost agree with O'Reilly.

Police don't need assault rifles, The National Guard don't need assault rifles, SWAT don't need assault rifles.
But they all have them, and that's why citizens should be permitted to have them.
Many innocent people have been murdered in cold blood by people we put our trust, faith, and taxes in this year. Don't forget that.
Any day now, an off-duty cop might decide to come in your house through your doggy door just because he knows he'll get away with it if you decide to protect yourself.

Nullifying the above statement is easy.

All the assault weapons out there have not prevented the many unjustified cop killings that we have seen the past year or so.

Cop killings have nothing to do with it. And no such thing as "assault weapons"; that's a media created term.

"Assault rifles", on the other hand, are not available to the public without a FFL.

Semi_auto rifles are.

A .223 cal or 7.62x.39mm does not make an "assault rifle".

The lemmings are easily led by these incidents thru emotion.

It does have something to do with it. It is often spewed that you "need" guns that fire multi rapid rounds to protect yourselves against the tyranny of strangers breaking into your homes as well as keeping the police in line.

Well, I don't see that working for ya at all.

No one NEEDS an ak47.
Wants and needs are two different things.

The same can be argued for the police in America who are keen on using their firearms without discretion.

Guns in homes DO stop crimes. A few months ago a 90 year old vet from my hometown shot a robbing thug as he was making his way down to the room the old-timer was staying in.

Anyways, it's a pain in the ass getting a gun legally in America. We've already got "gun control". Look up the stats though, the majority of gun crimes were committed with firearms that were acquired illegally.

No one needs a connection to the internet either, but who am I to tell you what to spend your money on?
