That brings up another interesting point. What if anything, should be changed in school security? Armed gaurds? Metal detectors? Would we even feel better if we made children feel like they were in prison?

Reinforced and bulletproof windows then...just like banning illegal drugs, banning guns will only get them out of the hands of those that obey the law...murderers generally don't obey laws.

If there is an agenda at work here, then it seems that it may involve creating a situation where a large percentage of U.S. citizens are armed to the teeth, and then, and ONLY then, will the government try to take them away, sure in the knowledge that a decent number of those armed citizens will resist, with predictable consequences.

I want you to come to my neighborhood for a night tour. You would be in tears by 11:00PM. You wouldn't be able to sleep at night without knowing someone was there armed, to protect your life. Because the police only show up to write reports in the daylight.

They almost always do "Registration" before "Confiscation"...

I think whatever they try to pass as far as an assault weapons ban will include registration of all firearms...

And they will make private transfer illegal...

And then, during some form of "National Emergency" they will be knocking on your door at 12:00 a.m. to collect your firearms...for your safety of course...

Well, lets put it this way then, Private Transfer without paperwork being filed with the government will become illegal...they may well allow you to sell your weapons, but they will want to track them...
