Charles becomes King George VII. He'll likely go senile and die within ten years. Then, William and Kate will become King William V and Queen Catherine. William was born in 1982 and may have inherited his grandmother's longevity and live into the 2060's. If Kate gives birth in 2013, that child would be next in line and in his/her 50's, married, and have teenage children of his/her own when William dies of old age. Save for tragedy, the House of Windsor is in good shape for the 21st Century. If, that is, the British insist the entertainment value, patriotic tradition, and contribution to a stable government and society that monarchy provides is worth the expense. Alternatively, the European Union could conceivably ban all forms of government for member states besides democratic republic in that time (e.g. become a dictatorship).
