World's largest economy for the last hundred years, most patents of any country in the world, center of global arts and culture, global hegemon... lots of reasons. What? I haven't seen any threads proclaiming the Brits are "dumb". I see plenty stating Americans are dumb along with all the usual americans are fat threads.
