NY has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel. If you google Jewish diaspora you'll come across a link listing the world cities/metro areas with the largest Jewish populations. London of course, and Paris. In the U.S. NYC, Boston, L.A., Chicago, Miami are all on the top 10 list. The Jewish population of just one of these U.S. cities is larger than the entire country of Germany.

Doubtful many Jews would ever want to return to Germany or many other places in Europe considering how badly they were treated most of the time and the German genocide of them.

That is why there are no Jews left in Poland or many other places where Hitler's Nazi's ran through. Moreover, most Jews know that far too many Europeans were only too happy to see it all happen and to take over their homes.

There are still strong anti-Semitic sentiments throughout many European countries, especially Eastern European ones.

So not likely many would want to go back there. Why give any of them even a long-shot chance to do it again?

Something doesn't add up with this story, just checked the religion statistics in Thuringia and there are only 1000 people tops that are officially practicing Judaism out of a 2,3 million population, although there is a very big percentage of atheists. Maybe this is some kind of an inside joke or a campaign of some sort?
