Quoting: Tanos Or would there be a 'Guns4Cash' kind of deal? Just curious more than anything, I don't think I'd want to go door to door demanding someone give me their AK... I don't see a "door-to-door" nationwide sweep, IF they outlaw possession. They'll make some examples probably, but then they'll stop. Too many gunowners here in the States. There will be a turn-in period. After that if you're caught with one you'll do some serious prison time or be SWAT teamed. But a door-to-door isn't something the police nor military want to do. Just my humble opinion of course. |

The original "assault weapons ban" law did not ban the ownership of "assault weapons" that were ALREADY OWNED. All the law did was ban the SALE of such weapons. So those who owned them prior to then enactment of the law could still own/possess them, but couldn't sell. |

PreBan magazines and rifles tripled and quadrupled in price. I ended up selling everything I owned at the time. Better investment than gold at this point. I'll add you could still legally sell the stuff yourself, but retailers could not sell it. Last Edited by Chrit on 12/18/2012 03:03 PM I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. But even liberals have a few paid smart guys on staff. I'm betting a semi-automatic ban and a 10 round limit on magazines. And a ammo tax with a EPA ban on lead. They want control and they see the stupid people all wound up to support them. Get what you can while you have time! |

Hmm that's intriguing, I'm showing my ignorance here to be honest, however I would have thought buying heavier weapons would require you going to gun shops. I thought to buy assault weapons there would be a registry? However it is a redundant question if they ban buying assault weapons from shops after a law is passed. I thought to buy assault weapons there would be a registry? However it is a redundant question if they ban buying assault weapons from shops after a law is passed. The question is: what is an "assault weapon"? There in lies the problem for the states. What makes a 30.06 bolt action rifle a hunting rifle? See what I'm getting at? There is no clear definition of what an "assault weapon" is. It's a made up term to make gheys, libs, and women pee themselves when it is uttered. You filled out paperwork that the gun store must keep for 6 months (or whatever) as required by law. Could be different state by state...but I live in one of the most restrictive states and there is no registry for long guns. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30220745 Considering that the United States government has pretty much signed over sovereignty to the U.N. and the fact that our constitution doesn't mean jack shit anymore. I'd say that if they do pass gun control it would be very unlikely that it would be nullified. |
