Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23094175 Yes, and luckily I hung onto my earlier screencaps of when they had Jupiter in the same scope immediately prior. I made a gif animation and you can see the glow is exactly where Jupiter had been in the image: [link to i319.photobucket.com] Furthermore, there's another faint spot right where one Jupiter's moons had been (just left of dead center in the Jupiter image). That is not a star, you can see that as well in the astrometrically solved version: [link to nova.astrometry.net] That proves that it's just quantum efficiency hysteresis, which produces a "ghosting" effect from bright objects in images that immediately follow it. That is what I thought because I just happened to walk away when Jupiter was on there and then saw the ghost when I came back. It struck me that it was in exactly the same spot. |

Wondering if you've ever done a thread on your thoughts and theories on this "plasma cloud" or whatever the technical term of it is that we're either going to be passing through or already in? If you have, would you mind linking me up? I'd be seriously interested in hearing your opinion. If you haven't, what are your thoughts. Thanks in advance, KIP |

Thanks in advance, KIP It's a bit brief, but I think this sums it up: [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] The local fluff is really only a concern if it compresses the heliosphere into the inner solar system, which isn't even close to happening. |
