I don't think the powers that be devised the shooting. However, I do think these medications' side effects need to be focused on.

We need to know if he was on meds when this happened or if had just come off them.

On MSM last night, they interviewed a teacher who knew Adam. The teacher said Adam did not feel pain, even when he got cut.

This information needs to go to the NRA, if you ask me. And I don't own a gun nor do I plan to own one. But, I don't like watching gun control railroaded!

I've seen plenty of videos of someone carrying, who stops a crime.

Wow, just had a thought.

What would really turn this whole thing on its ear (against gun control) is if a law suit was filed on behalf of the victims parents against the pharmaceutical company that makes Fanapt, as a linked cause to the violence, based on the drugs known side effects to cause violence.

Any lawyers in the house?

Drug issue aside, how could a single shooter have pumped 3-11 (3 X 11=33) rounds into 26 or 27 people? The guy got by the secured entrance concealing an AR-15, or was it two hand guns? Wasn't the AR-15 found in the back of the nearby car? Oh wait, the Chief Med. Examiner said they were all killed by assault rifle fire? The details are as clear as mud by design.

"Fact: At least fourteen recent school shootings were committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 109 wounded and 58 killed (in other school shootings, information about their drug use was never made public—neither confirming or refuting if they were under the influence of prescribed drugs.)

Fact: Between 2004 and 2011, there have been over 11,000 reports to the U.S. FDA’s MedWatch system of psychiatric drug side effects related to violence. These include 300 cases of homicide, nearly 3,000 cases of mania and over 7,000 cases of aggression. Note: By the FDA’s own admission, only 1-10% of side effects are ever reported to the FDA, so the actual number of side effects occurring are most certainly higher."

The Antipsychotic Prescribed To Adam Lanza Has A Troubled History All Its Own

By now the whole country is fully embroiled in the Gun Control debate, spurred by the grisly murder of 27 people, mostly kids, at the Sandy Hook Elementary school last Friday.

Guns might not be the only problem though.

New York Magazine wrote a piece about shooter Adam Lanza's supposed "aspergers" syndrome as a "red herring" meant to distract from the real problem (guns, of course, the subject goes without mentioning).

Inside the piece though they report Adam Lanza's uncle said the boy was prescribed Fanapt, a controversial anti-psychotic medicine.

Fanapt was the subject of a Bloomberg report when it passed regulators, after previously getting the "nonapproval" stamp. Why wasn't it approved, you might ask?

Here's a list of reported side effects of the prescription drug, Fanapt, that Lanza was on at the time

- Restlessness
- Aggression
- Delusion
- Hostility
- Decreased libido
- Paranoia
- Angorasmia
- Confusional state
- Mania
- Catatonia

I think something that would help is to change curriculum in the schools. First off, make it less left minded plus divide the kids according to testing to see which skills they need to develop.

It would be easy to let psychologist's set up testing so areas of concern could be addressed. Psychologist's could also be involved in setting up the curriculum.

For example, test the kids each year. Whoever is short in empathy, they take courses in humanitarianism skills. This would replace current curriculum. If everybody is taking classes that have to do with developing skills, there is no stigma.

Of course he was. This is why he was chosen as the patsy.

The pattern with the mass shootings is someone who has a 'mental illness' of some sort yielding a mask, gun, and bullet resistant/proof clothing with amazing quick killing efficiency.

They want us to believe he was psychotic, but yet had enough wits about him to pull something like that off.

It may be that he did do it and he was on this anti-psychotic drug, but I doubt it.

I think he was on the drug, but he was used as the fall guy and his mother was killed as well.

The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

Friday evening, CNN featured an "expert" (Lisa Van Susteren) who claimed that the shooter had exhibited warning signs, but no one spoke up, and that we need to get these troubled people on medication before they snap and turn violent - completely ignoring the fact that these guys are always *already* on some type of meds.

Psychiatric drugs do not 'prevent' anything, they are used to treat it. Since the results from any one prescription have varying degrees of effectiveness and are often used in combination with other prescriptive drugs, it's often hit and miss and on to the next cocktail to find out what works best for an individual.

Yeah, and how many times have CNN got the story right?

So, Adam Lanza, who by witnesses accounts say he was a disturbed kid, who's brother said he had a personality disorder, whose family is wealthy and would do anything for their child, never had a medical child psychiatrist, never had prescribed medication?

The truth will come out, CNN.

Top ten prescription drugs linked to violent behavior:

1. Varenicline (Chantix): The number one violence-inducing drug on the list, this anti-smoking medication is 18 times more likely to be linked with violence when compared to other drugs

2. Fluoxetine (Prozac): This drug was the first well-known SSRI antidepressant

3. Paroxetine (Paxil): Another SSRI antidepressant, Paxil is also linked with severe withdrawal symptoms and a risk of birth defects

4. Amphetamines: (Various): Used to treat ADHD

5. Mefoquine (Lariam): A treatment for malaria which is often linked with reports of strange behavior

6. Atomoxetine (Strattera): An ADHD drug that affects the neurotransmitter noradrenaline

7. Triazolam (Halcion): This potentially addictive drug is used to treat insomnia

8. Fluvoxamine (Luvox): Another SSRI antidepressant

9. Venlafaxine (Effexor): An antidepressant also used to treat anxiety disorders

10. Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq): An antidepressant which affects both serotonin and noradrenaline
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29729580

Allot of these drugs are 'fluoridated' too in that they contain fluorine atoms as part of the structure. Pretty neat. I am ADHD, and I'm happily medicated with amphetamines, I have to say that amphetamines are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be. They have been prescribing amphetamine to adults and children for 80 years. The effects short and long term are well known, many of these new drugs have never really been tested on humans.

Sad truth is, all the antipsychotic drugs in the world won't stop some of these people from doing horrible, crazy things. Back in the day, there used to be asylums, funded by the government, where these people could be institutionalized, for the safety of all, for the rest of their lives if need be. Then, I guess in the 70s and beyond, your government decided they weren't going to fund these institutions any longer, and encouraged medicating those deemed mentally insane, and placing them into society, living in efficiency apartments and the such, with a monthly government check...
and so the story goes....of multiple, horrendous killing sprees, done by people that should be institutionalized, but the government refuses to finance the institutions needed for them.

Millions of people are on antipsychotic, antidepressant and other similar drugs. Why aren't there hundreds of cases of mass shootings? These tragedies are rare.

The question should be if this guy wasn't taking these drugs would he have acted the same way? Probably!

Drugs shouldn't be an excuse. Like that cop a few years ago who raped someone and blamed it on his prescription.
