I can understand that you guys want to be able to own a weapon to defend yourself or family in dire situations, but a fully automatic rifle that joe bloggs taliban would LOVE to own?

A decent handgun, a shot gun perhaps and maybe a sporting rifle for killing some wildlife but whats the need for full automatic weapons that are designed purely for annihilating as many as possible as quickly as possible?

Thank you...you have made a great point, our government is talking about semi-auto assault weapon bans...fully auto weapons are already banned (well you need a special license to own) but a lot of uninformed people think they are talking about fully automatic assault rifles which is simply not the case. You should read the laws for the assault weapons, basically stating that even if they look menacing that it could be considered an assault weapon.

A fully automatic shoulder fired weapon is actually designed primarily for suppressive fire. It is a weapon for mass armies.
