My inlaws, I have never seen them cry, not even when they lost their parents or when my dad died (who they said they adored) not when a grandchild died tragically

imho its the old wasp upbringing, where it is lower class to show emotion or react visibly

if you went to a NE school, dated a typical wasp, you remember "no visible display of affection"


In fact, when my dad died and I was devastated, it took two months for my father in law to send a card.
