Re: The Sun Was Supposed To Set At 4:41 Central Time In Missouri, 12/18 , Still Hasn't Set At 5:01
Someone else mentioned it might be due to the aerosols in the air and the light is bending perhaps. It was overcast in St. Louis today, so perhaps it seemed to set on time because there wasn't a hyper-illumination effect? Yesterday it was clear and sunny and set about 25 mins. late.

That sounds rational OP. They are always spraying crap here this year has been one of the worst. I see it all the time.

And the fact that you are so insulting throws up a huge red flag.

Paid for my hostile stance. Please. If I said anything hostile, please forgive me. Threads that make me waste precious time do bring out the worst.

What, is someone twisting your arm to 'make you waste your precious time' to read this?

sheesh. Some people don't have a firm grasp of reality.

Re: The Sun Was Supposed To Set At 4:41 Central Time In Missouri, 12/18 , Still Hasn't Set At 5:01
It appears that the sunset times are correct but the observed extension of visible light and the extended time needed for artificial light may be due to increased luminosity of the Sun.

So the "illusion" that the Sunset is later is just that but the noted extension of visible light is NOT an illusion but observation of a true anomaly.

So in conclusion the orbital status of the Sun and Earth are correct but the Sun has become so much brighter that the radiated energy is extending or diffusing into the atmosphere far beyond the norm and therefore illuminates the sky well beyond the norm.

So...the Sun may be going into a hyper state of illumination at this time.

If this is the case...look out!

Well that's not happy news.

Let's just keep gathering info. I hope more people chime in, and certain others disappear.

What time did you turn on your headlights this week last year?
 Quoting: Menow 18943200

Christmas time stands out last year and it was definitely earlier than this year. Ok here's one for you. Off the top of your head which light is at the top of a street light green red or yellow? Just wondering we see it all the time but most are on autopilot and then there's some of us that see beyond.
 Quoting: _Obsidian_

You "see beyond" what, reality? I'm sure you think you do.
Do you have ANY solid evidence that it's lighter, later this year than last other that your memory? ANYTHING AT ALL?

The fact that you didn't answer my question tells me that you aren't sure. I don't see beyond reality. But I surely pay attention to detail. The answer to this is get off the thread and go look morning and night. If you don't see anything off then quit coming here to prove you know the answer. If you see something off then join the club. But honestly rationality tells me we have nothing to gain here except a headache and wasted time with all this silly banter. Its like people who talk shit on songs they don't like on you tube. Gahhh don't like it it don't listen grow up and stop trying to poop on the party? So to speak.

I consider it a duty, of sorts, to debunk the wild, hysterical, doomsday claims and predictions you seem to think of as a "party". The fact that you think random people can have discovered that the sun is setting late, or whatever you think this "off-ness" is speaks volumes and so does the fact that you didn't answer MY question.

I didn't answer you because it makes no difference at all to the question at hand.

East Coast, 34 degrees latitude, sun set later again today on toward 5:30pm. Cannot give an exact time because I am behind a lot of tall trees. Didn't start getting dark until near 6p.

Like some people are saying, the sun is unusually bright and we may have daylight after it sets. Dunno.

Sun also appears to be much further South than it normally is for this time of year.

Ummm I did answer your question for one thing. For two im not listening to random people I came here to discuss what I saw with my own two eyes and it just so happened to be the case that other people in various areas noticed it too. It may not be doom. There could be a rational explanation for it. Like what the OP posted recently. If that is your duty good luck also good luck with that round peg we all know how that turns out. In other words I don't think you'll get much accomplished. But I admire your conviction despite your outwardly condescending tone lol

I also answered this on the other thread.
Yes, it's normal.
the feature is called 'Rupes Recta', or more commonly, 'the Straight Wall'
It is a fault line in the Mare Nubium (Sea of Clouds)

Uaaattt??? where did you find that info? (Link to NASA plz).

 Quoting: DUCM900

I got the info from memory - I recognised it as soon as I saw it.
And you don't need a NASA link FFS - they don't own a monopoly on space study y'know.

Google the name - there should be tons of pics and info.
