If it hasn't been said yet, expecting the sky to go dark right at the time of sunset is incorrect. Sunset is the time the sun goes below the horizon, so there will still be light in the sky. At the equator, the sky goes dark in minutes after sunset. The time lag between sunset and darkness increases the further towards the north (or south) pole you go. In Portland, the lag is about 20 mintues.

Otherwise, a lot of you will report that the sky got dark later than the stated sunset time.

In this case the claims are in spectacular conflict with reality as observed by people who actual know what they are talking about, so these claims will need a spectacular amount of evidence to be even remotely convincing.

There is MEASURING the testimony.

Eyewitness can be useful but it can be unreliable. Sorry if that offends, but it remains true.

People are stating that the Sun is out of place. Since I have not noticed that, and my eyewitness testimony is just as good, how do we figure out who is correct?

When I observed the sunrise, it was exactly as predicted, and lined up with the solstice last year. Now why is my observation *less valid* in your mind than another poster's? And how do you decide which is valid?
