The Sun Was Supposed To Set At 4:41 Central Time In Missouri, 12/18 , Still Hasn't Set At 5:01 | |

Brighter and whiter for sure you can't look anywhere near it now. I remember growing up it was yellowish orange and you could look nearby it for a few seconds and not worry about vision loss but now I can barely look in its general direction. But its only been the last few years. How can it turn into a red giant that quickly isn't that a long process? It is. But we have been tracking a magnetic ribbon of high energy particles that have been on their way here for awhile now. Sent via the galactic center. No fear It can effect the way our sun spends its fuel. sending it into premature red giant. Google: Why does the milky way nuclear bulge contain so many red giants and super red giants. The only reason it got darker for you is because there were clouds. Please, sunset has never been that early unless you live on the border of the time zone. It may be getting dark, but I have to say you should look at the sky more. I say this with all due respect to another. I have printed out all the sunrise and sunset times and will be checking tomorrow morning! We may be seeing the start of real 2012 doom! By the way...if the Earth stops the tidal bulge will drop and shorelines north and south of the equator will be flooded! |

I left the office at roughly 5:30 tonight and noticed the sky was still fairly bright. I thought it was weird, but assumed since I've been leaving after six for the last few weeks I'd misjudged how early it should be getting dark. FTR my office is in Chantilly, VA. Sun should have set at 4:50. :/ |
