Checking in this morning. According to weather dot come sunrise should be 7:34. The sky has been light since 7:00. I can't compare the actual sunrise at my house as it has to come over a mountain in my back yard. But the lightness seems to have been early this morning. Not for sure though. I usually am getting ready for work and do not really notice.

I've noticed that as well 2 months ago, twilight was in about 15 / 20 min. longer than it should be.

the sun was supposed to rise at 7:12 this morning. It was light out and the sun was rising at 7 a.m.

It also did set late last night, I commented to my wife as we were driving toward the sunset that the sun sure is setting late tonight, odd.

Then I get home later in the evening and find this post.

somethings off somewhere.

The moon is waning and waxing incorrectly as well, any idiot can look up at the sky and see that.
What are the facts?

Perhaps, but I'm in the suburbs of Detroit and didn't plug my lights in until 5:40 last night. I looked at the clock and wondered why I was plugging them in 25 minutes later than normal. Very weird.

Yeah, that's what I said before. Sometimes it's on time and sometimes it's not. At least the setting times. Checking sunrise times are too early for me. haha

Anyway, the sunset times seem to be variable, sometimes on time, sometimes way off. I'll be so happy if the sunrise times remain consistent!! I was just thinking that for the sunset times to be so variable that something must be unstable.

Maryland here.
I did notice it was still bright a little later than usual...not that much of a difference though.
Sunrise was right on time.

Doesnt make sense to me,,,why some places and not others? If there actually is a change i would assume its worldwide and consistant.

I am on the East Coast, the Triad of NC. Last night it was 5:30 and usually it is almost completely dark. I even made a comment to my boyfriend on how late the Sun seemed to be setting. I am going to see if I notice it again tonight, but DEFINITELY noticed it last night (and I had not seen this thread yet). I will have to check to see when the projected Sunset time was for my area, I just know I leave work at the same time every day and last night it was way brighter for this time of year.

sunrise was set at 6:56 this morning and, if anything, it was early.

As I understand the definition of sunrise, it is when the very first sliver of the sun is visible over a non obstructed horizon. By 7:10 the sun was in full view approximately 7-8 degrees above the horizon.

Only 14 minutes and 7 degrees of movement across the sky?
