Sun was supposed to set at 4:43. It's 5:09 and it hasn't set yet.

Also, I agree with everyone that the sun is looking a lot brighter lately. White hot and hard to look at. If Nibiru was out today, I couldn't see it because I could barely look at the sun.

Ok I left and quit participating because I thought I was the problem for debating with meow or whatever his name is and things seriously got 100 times worse to where this is a circus. Everyone is engaging the shills and you guys are all flinging insults right and left.

This thread went way off topic along time ago.

Anywho, Let's just wait and see what happens. That's the onlt way we will know for sure.

Yes the last one shill comes from the cartoons as you can see.

Don't feed them.

Noticed it was light when I left work last night.

It was not dark when I left at 6.45am this morning nor was it dark at 5pm driving home. Supposed to be the shortest day of light of the year - didn't seem that way.

After seeing this thread I decided to put it to the test. It was supposed to set at 4:35 and wasn't dark until 5:10. Does it take 35 minutes after sunset to get dark?

Btw I wanted to mention earlier which was why I was here but I got distracted :-( that it was bright here about 6am but I looked and the sunrise was not till 6:50. It was also bright as in summer time level of brightness at 8am it burned my eyes and gave me a headache (not looking directly btw that I had no desire to go outisde. I missed the sunset I've been so stressed I didn't bother looking tbh. All this december 21st crap and all the arguing really drained me. But I do still think something is off. Just because a major calamity didn't happen. I think it's also worth mentioning someone posted a thread where they said if the last day of the mayan calender is the 21st wouldn't tomorrow be the actual end? Just food for thought. I'm not saying I believe but it made me give it some more thought. Naysayers please leave me alone for once btw lol This is mainly to discuss with the OP, Duc and Da Fuq or any other person NOT trying to fight.

Normally I just read post here. I came across this thread yesterday and found it very interesting because I had noticed the same thing happening. At a time when the daylight should be less until the winter solstice, I noticed last week it seemed the daylight was getting longer, if only by a couple of minutes but it was. So I paid attention last night. The sun set about 15 minutes later than what it should have AND the civil twilight lasted until 6:15 pm. Here is when it should have ended.

19 December 2012 Eastern Standard Time

SUN
Begin civil twilight 7:10 a.m.
Sunrise 7:38 a.m.
Sun transit 12:35 p.m.
Sunset 5:32 p.m.
End civil twilight 6:00 p.m.

The last of the sun dropped below the horizon at approx 5:47 pm.

 Quoting: Menow 18943200

Uh, simple...do you even know the meaning of civil twilight you dweeb? if not then let me s'plain:
Civil twilight is defined to begin in the morning, and to end in the evening when the center of the Sun is geometrically 6 degrees below the horizon. This is the limit at which twilight illumination is sufficient, under good weather conditions, for terrestrial objects to be clearly distinguished; at the beginning of morning civil twilight, or end of evening civil twilight, the horizon is clearly defined and the brightest stars are visible under good atmospheric conditions in the absence of moonlight or other illumination. In the morning before the beginning of civil twilight and in the evening after the end of civil twilight, artificial illumination is normally required to carry on ordinary outdoor activities. And before you even say it, no, it was not the moon "illuminating" the sky. The sky was still light from the sun setting.

I also will ignore the shills, I do not mind if there is input but being bullied and made as though I am nuts I will ignore. I also know very good an well how very light/dark it is this time of year at any given time. This is the thing one who goes outside and does chores, cares for the animals KNOWS it is not taking out a contraption and twisting nobs or looking at something on the internet, this is day in day out living in the country observation. From about one week ago I would say there has occured a SIGNIFIGANT Change that in the past couple days has grown pronounced. Not so much talking about twilight or the light that proceeds the sunset because THAT is MUCH more, the light comes EARLY prior to sunrise (than usual) it is REMAINING a good while after sunset as well. No you do not have to believe me or take my word for it BUT I SWEAR I am NOT Lying in any way shape of form, I have no need to do so. I am Reporting to others what I Feel is Important....for whatever reason or the why it is happening I do not know, but I seriously do KNOW, without a doubt because it is that different!

I wasn't going to say anything about the moon and I didn't ask you for a definition of civil twilight. I asked you how you determined that, on that occasion, civil twilight lasted until 6:15 or 15 minutes longer than it should have. You have no answer?

You also said this: "The sun set about 15 minutes later than what it should have". Have a photo showing that? No? Will you take one tonight which will demonstrate your claimed late sunset?

Seriously people, it's futile to argue or debate with the shills because they are intellectually dishonest, amongst other things. A discussion with them always degrades into a mud slinging contest. Their stance from the start usually betrays their intentions and they are trained to throw folks off. Just let them talk to each other and the wind.

Thanks. It will be good for us and for lurkers who visit this thread.

(yeah, I didn't take my own prescription. My bad.)

So, asking for solid evidence of wild claims that the sun is setting too late is "throwing folks off". I see...

Damn. A guy observes the sun rising farther in the north, during winter no less! That's very odd because the planet isn't even tilted.

A truly unusual phenomenon!

Re: The Sun Was Supposed To Set At 4:41 Central Time In Missouri, 12/18 , Still Hasn't Set At 5:01
Damn. A guy observes the sun rising farther in the north, during winter no less! That's very odd because the planet isn't even tilted.

A truly unusual phenomenon!

Shill or Troll? (or uneducated)

SO I ask you: how many degrees the Sun can rise from the East ---> to the North in winter season?

Tell us the max in degrees.

central illinois this morning i saw 8 chemtrailers all flying in parallel lines all viewable at the same time. within 45 minutes, it went from clear to full. i did see one contrail to compare it with. its trail evaporated about 5-700 yards behind.

oh yeah, the reason i bring this up is because i something i recently heard is that ionospheric heating can cause a lensing effect in one area and not another. that is why things seem hinkey in one part of the country but not in another.

if you are referring to me, i assure you i am no shill, i am stating an observation and a viewpoint-nothing more. you would be better served if you open yourself up to different ideas that may be contrary to what you are comfortable believing.

I think DUK was referring to the guy who started throwing scientific sounding numbers around.
