I'm no astronomer and know little about the sun, moon and stars.

Otherwise they probably lose their stuff in a snap, and the mainstream media (MMS) does obviously what the gov. tells as well. That's pretty logic.

Hey, what a "surprise" that S**** request (not), you got tons of greens because of "Reported Copyright Violation" and from the same "debunkers"(your best mates) on weekly. I guess you give them back too.

Anyway, do you already left the discussion?

I'm NOT saying that what its hapening since late 2007 till now, its not happening. I well know that the sideway moon is there, me too got photos since that date, so what?

It's 5:07 in houston tx and the sun is still up... huh that's odd. i usually go home in the dark
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30254061

The days are supposed to be getting shorter, darker earlier because of the winter equinox.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30218778

Wrong. That would be winter solstice. Equinox would mean that both day and night are the same duration. Otherwise, you are correct...although the days are now getting longer since we've passed the solstice.

Driving home during and just after sunset..

I noticed the rosy sunset glow in my rear view..
Then I noticed a pink glow on the horizon.. 360 degrees of glow..

And, no.. I didn't take a picture..but I saw it.
 Quoting: Waterbug

that's rather common going from one brightly lit area (city/town) to another.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6476436

Except that it was out in the county headed away from the city..
and it was still very daytime.. and I live in a rural area.
And I know the difference between what I saw and city-glow.
City-glow is not pink.. nor does it encompass 360 degrees of view.

I'm a hunter.
I've watched the sun come up and go down for over 50 years..
Prime hunting is just after can't see in the morning and just before can't see in the afternoon..
game animals move the most during those times.
I get into the woods before daylight to morning hunt...and out after dark on an afternoon hunt.

So.. I'm very aware of what that looks like... in all kinds of weather.
Hunting effectively means remaining motionless and scanning with your eyeballs.. for hours at a time.

I think I'll trust my eyes and experience on this, over a random claim from who knows who..
 Quoting: Waterbug

rockon thank you, you are the kind of person I will listen too over these people who spew a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. You KNOW what is the norm because you are living closer to nature, out in it and it is not only a sense it is like "WOW" this is NOT RIGHT type of in your face. Thanks for sharing

Congratulations for seeing a perfect example of field rotation.

I guarantee that if you'd looked at it a few hours before you would have seen it appear upright and a few hours before that it would have appeared lit on the top side.

SO its more good for you to leave that topic right now.

Another proof here. This is 1 year timelapse moon video from the Earth (seems it has been filmed on 2011, there are here a decent number of photograms stiked together to make the film smoothest as possible I think in about almost 1 per day).

As you can see, there is no sideway moon at all.

Plus the shadow angle on the phases, pretty change (it does not stand up as it should be on our latitudes).

SO that video was filmed far away from the poles/northern hemisphere.

-
 Quoting: DUCM900

Actually, it's one image per HOUR, but it's not "film" at all, it's an ANIMATION, simulating a polar-aligned perspective, which eliminates field rotation. Get a clue- buy one if you have to.

Damn. A guy observes the sun rising farther in the north, during winter no less! That's very odd because the planet isn't even tilted.

A truly unusual phenomenon!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29759427

Shill or Troll? (or uneducated)

SO I ask you: how many degrees the Sun can rise from the East ---> to the North in winter season?

Tell us the max in degrees.

 Quoting: DUCM900

North = 0 Degree SO? How many degrees ?

no answer yet?

-
 Quoting: DUCM900

Then virtually 0 degrees, because depending on your latitude and the time of year, the sun can only brush the northern horizon.

OH, I see. So logic and reason don't appeal to you. The source means more than the message itself?

Oh well. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Good luck getting a hold of that.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6476436

Evidence of what? Did you ever see a sideway moon's photo in a school book relative to all the northern hemisphere regions with the explanations of the field rotation?

-
 Quoting: DUCM900

Do you understand that the moon has a north pole which faces the same direction and does Earth's north pole- toward Polaris?

Really? I think it's accurate. THC leads to paranoia, leads to vast conspiracy theories.

It's a causal link, and the easiest explanation for why people would suddenly think the SUN is (apparently) in several places in our sky at once. The Earth's rotation has not changed, the sun is where it's supposed to be. If you took down all the datapoints you are getting from this thread (feel free to ignore the rational people, let's allow for confirmation bias). You would see the data you are getting STILL is inconsistent, you have people reporting all sorts of "off" times, and none of them would match up with any particular theory.

Meaning apparently the Earth is both speeding up and slowing down, while also wobbling furiously like a dying top.

The data just doesn't fit. It's really as simple as that. Don't believe me? Take your data you're getting from the thread, please do it. See for yourself. Math and Science are amazing things.

Everything you needed was provided on page 32. Furthermore it's your claim, your burden of proof.

I can't help that you are arguing from a point of incredulity. Though that is basic SOP for these parts?

Why am I hear? Well, I tumbled down this rabbit hole originally to see how many end of the worlders were going to have their minds blown when it didn't end (repeatedly).

Sadly, it has become a realization that all it did was galvanize them to pick another date. There will always be DOOM on the horizon for some of these people I suppose. Not sure why, but it appears there is just a portion of individuals who would rather live in fear of every shadow, every dark corner, than shed light on the matter.

I stayed, because a lot of well intentioned people find their way here looking for answers. The answers they will often receive here are nothing more than uninformed conspiracy theories.

That's all well and good, except then they go just off of a random internet post and don't do any real independent research. Which makes them an easy convert for your side I suppose. Facts are stubborn things. There's a reason why no one on your side of the fence lasts long at a place like BAUT or other scientifically literate venues. No, it's not because everyone is a shill and suppressing evidence. It's because the "evidence" you claim to be true is not grounded in any sort of reality. When push comes to shove and challenged on extraordinary claims, or asked to simply compile data and look at it themselves and how it doesn't fit, the typical HB'er refuses or dismisses (their own) faulty data themselves.

As for motive? I can only guess why. Like I said apparently some people just want to watch the world burn. It doesn't mean they should take everyone down with them.

Now, are YOU going to start going through this thread and plot the supposed data points? Again, I'd even let you rule out anyone who is stating nothing is amiss. Let's allow for confirmation bias. Take all the "off" times, plug them in against almanac or weather station released times, and note, that the data itself doesn't fit. People are not taking into account a myriad list of reasons why the sun is rising/setting when it does, (field of view, elevation, weather, (ie they can't properly see when the sun rose/set and are assuming based on residual light) ecact lat/long coordinates etc).

What you'd get is a world that is both speeding up and slowing down at the same time, much akin to a 16 year old's first time at the wheel. The effects on weather patterns, tradewinds, biological cycles etc, would all be noticeable on a global scale. That isn't happening.
