Since when are sellers allowed to say they accept money orders on eBay?
When I was a bronze powerseller 4 years ago, eBay very much frowned and removed listings saying money orders accepted. I see a ton of listings advertising they accept money orders. And saying call and pay with your credit card. I wasn't allowed to say in my listings "call and pay with your credit card" because they would say I was trying to circumvent ebay fees. Have the loosened the rules a tad bit?

They've always allowed it. I've paid in the past with checks and money orders, and I've accepted checks and money orders. AND I've been on E-bay for 10 years now.

No, they haven't allowed it. Couple years ago, they were trying to make everybody use paypal. I was told, and had numerous listings removed since I was saying I accept money orders. Now everybodys listings say they accept money orders...

I was an eBay powerseller as well, and yeah they've always allowed that. What they do not allow is a link on the auction to your email address or a website.

No, I was specifically told, do nat say you accept money orders in my listings, I was able to put my credit cards logo and telephone number in there, but I was to no. I was allowed to accept them if I was asked, but my rep told me absolutely no advertising that I accepted money orders...This was over 3 years ago however.

I also had listings pulled several years ago for saying I accepted money orders. I did not do paypal after a few overseas buyers discovered that paypal would automatically find for the buyer and that it was difficult to track if they claimed non-receipt. They always bought high-dollar items which "disappeared". Paypal still claims I owe them about $200.

yes, FEEBay does not allow money orders, cash or barter(for that matter), at least that was the way they operated when I was selling....and I don't think the money hungry shits would have changed!

[link to pages.ebay.com]

I was selling on eBay Motors, which is why I could accept money orders. Otherwise OP, you are correct.

I was told cash is OK locally for pick up, but when you checkout, you have the option to choose money order, or check. If asked, you can accept money orders. When listing items, you can still choose money orders as a payment method.
