Every other day now there is a new thread from a poster posing as a marijuana smoker and trying desperately to portray marijuana in the worst light possible... A few days ago it was an individual who had 'destroyed his body with weed' and reporting he felt like he had 'lung cancer', saying he wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on weed by the age of 26... All these threads are bullshit. Same individual or group of individuals trying to drum up anti-marijuana sentiments..... |

LORIEN User ID: 30269219 United States 12/18/2012 09:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction; that is, compulsive drug seeking and abuse despite its known harmful effects upon social functioning in the context of family, school, work, and recreational activities. Long-term marijuana abusers trying to quit report irritability, sleeplessness, decreased appetite, anxiety, and drug craving, all of which make it difficult to quit. These withdrawal symptoms begin within about 1 day following abstinence, peak at 2-3 days, and subside within 1 or 2 weeks following drug cessation. The thing is the smoking part, it's bad for your lungs. If it were legal it'd be so cheap you could buy heaps of the stuff and just eat/cook with it and problem solved. Till that day you must replace it with other offsetting habits and wean yourself, walking trail among trees does wonders. Slight opiates, Valerian root, monoatomic gold Try Zynergy+ from ZPtech Hot baths, basketball, there are a million things, video games, anything they all can help. It's your lesson to master I can only offer what helped me. Oh yeah, and a job so you won't lay around all day and toke up. It's easy to find something worth dying for. I understand, you are butthurt about it. ok so whats your moderation? if you smoke everyday, yeah you got a drug problem, no matter what the drug is. once a week, once a month? why not just quit? what do you buy? ...one dime every week? My moderation is one bowl a day - I don't even smoke it all in one sitting... An ounce lasts me approx 3 months. I held the same corporate job for 6 years straight while smoking everyday AFTER work. I never smoke in the morning and never smoke & drive or before I have to go out and get things done. I have quit smoking before for job interviews and never experienced any significant withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. I plan on taking a break from smoking in another month or so and am not worried about stopping at all - I've done it before with little difficulty. The issue with most smokers who abuse marijuana is that they are trying to recreate that initial 'high' they experienced when they first started toking. So they smoke more and more thinking it will recreate the effects that they once experienced. More is not always better. Too much frequency or too much volume can be debilitating and counterproductive. A few tokes can be uplifting. My opinion is that people need to smoke less per sitting overall. Saves you $$$ too. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 30271413 United States 12/19/2012 01:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you are smoking weed constantly please consider that you may be self medicating an underlying illness, which will re- appear when you quit. Excess "withdrawl" symptoms, esp. if they do not resolve in three weeks, should be viewed with suspicion. Our "vices" can have positive as well as negative effects on our health. Take tobacco and ulcerative colitis, for example: [link to ibdcrohns.about.com] Ulcerative colitis appears to be a disease of non-smokers. Former smokers are at the highest risk for developing ulcerative colitis, while current smokers have the least risk. This tendency indicates that smoking cigarettes may prevent the onset of ulcerative colitis. |
