It is common for parents to be given heavy anti-depressants after the death of their children. I have 2 women that I know who lost teenagers and both were given drugs 'to get them through'. One of them was such a zombie through her daughter's visitation she just stood there and smiled.... THAT seems far more likely to me than anything else.
