Signs of Martial Law in your town

I was wondering if anyone has had an increase in police/military activity in their town in the last couple of months? I live in the Midwest, in a small city, and we've had a major increase.

Our police department spent a ton of money on a brand new helicopter, which has been patrolling non stop for the past couple of months along with a couple of "little birds" and a couple of Black Hawks. They get low too, they usually patrol my part of town at about 11:30pm-12:30am and the windows will vibrate in my house. The first night it happened was the first Obama Romney debate and they circled the area for a solid hour. No search lights.

I got on my local news station's facebook and three people had posted already "why is this helicopter circling my neighborhood?" I commented as well. Next day our comments were deleted. People on the other side of town were writing about jets flying around their part of town. & its been going on ever since....no official statement yet. The news did mention that the jets were doing running practice drills.

Its so odd. I've lived here all of my life and I've never seen such a thing.

Other notable things, police towers like these [link to uptownco.files.wordpress.com] are set up in odd places....intersections with low traffic flow...some at more crowded intersections.

We've also got the AWACS flying around.

My brothers got pulled over the other day around 10pm for suspicious activity. They were driving home from a fast food place. Cop told him someone called and complained about his driving and gave his license plate number exactly and detailed his car...then when my other bro confronted him after he got back with the license and insurance the cop changed his story completely! 3 cop cars were involved in this and in the end all they did was tell him to go home. wtf...apparently you can't even go out and get a cheeseburger after work anymore. & we live in the nice suburban part of town.

Anyone have similar things going on in their towns? I've never seen a drone/little bird/black hawk/ police tower in my life & now they're all over the place.
