Ask an Ex-Muslim anything
I am an Ex-Muslim. I've been out of "Islam" for only a few months and I haven't really got a chance to discuss it yet. So I'm giving anyone the chance to ask me anything.

I plan on putting a good amount of detail into each question, assuming that question is on-topic. Just bare with me as I am getting a bit drunk as I post this. But I will be back and forth to answer questions until the thread is dead.

I also plan on expanding questions that are asked and going into other details.

To start us off:

I was a white Western convert. I converted to Islam in my late-teens and stayed a Muslim for over six years. I did not become Muslim just to marry my GF or something like most converts today do (yes, they do!)... it was a pure "religious conviction" and I did it all for my "soul". I also thought it would be an awesome way of life. jihad

hi,so my brother was it the blatant deception of islam that opened your eyes to it being a lie?i was muslim for 17 years, raised my kids as muslims and was ready to commit myself to wearing a scarf for allah.so i started looking deeper into mohammeds life and story and came to see it was bullshit .anyways why is your name satan is great??? Do you not know that it was satan himself disguised as an angel that revealed the koran to mohammed?? So if it was satan homself who deceived you for 5 years, why would you think hes great??? The whole purpose of islam is to stop people from believing that jesus is the son of god.thats the truth that satan tried to hide from you.wake up now, turn to jesus as he is your only hope, stop glorifiing satan because he hates you and all of mankind..

Ok, if I understand well, you quit because of the people, which is understandable.

There are a lot of hypocrites in Islam & they love to make other people feel bad. No surprise they made you leave a faith which you didn't understand well to begin with.

As long as you're a good person, you can call yourself Muslim.

Cheers & good luck.

Thanks lol. It feels pretty good. I feel free. But it also sucks in a way, because I don't "know" what the truth is anymore, and I'm not sure what will happen when I die. That's all up in the air, and Islam did give some certainty, however false that was.

Do you feel stupid about wasting six years of your life?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14896274

Yes, in many ways I do feel this way. I feel like I made a big fool out of myself, growing this big beard and wearing a cap and all this, being so strict and silly, etc.

I do think it was an interesting experience, but still, the entire six years was a little much. In ways I think Islam made me into more of a man... it made me tougher. I think it's safe to say I'd be a totally different person now if I had never been Muslim. Also, one thing I am thankful for is that Islam got me through a suicidal time and helped "explain" life to me when things were really dark. I was able to spend so much time sober as well. But it really sucks realizing that all that progress was under a lie. Humanity is in a real dark reality.

hello

What made you leave Islam?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

I guess that's the real question, eh?

I believe that Wiki Islam site is the real key. They expose Islam extremely well there. I was a true and honest Muslim. I was an extremist who believed in Jihad, etc. Any Muslim who doesn't believe in these things is simply uneducated and stupid, or is lying. Now I do still think the "Islamist" side has many points against the West, and I am still very much against the West and Zionism (in fact, I follow Adolf Hitler now). But that's the truth about Islam - it is a brutal, violent, bloody religion, just like Judaism and Christianity in many ways. I wanted to be an honest Muslim and believe in the "truth". But the reality is, if you support Muhammad for all his terrorism and rape, the Muslims will slander you for that, call you a kaffir, murtad, blasphemer, etc. They will actually hate you for defending Muhammad's crimes. Ironic, isn't it?

I guess I got really fed up. I was all alone. All the Muslims were either greedy pigs who wanted to use me, or they reject me for my extremist views, or I rejected them for not being extreme enough. It wasn't a good match. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and I really started questioning things. It became so clear that Islam was of no benefit to me in this life, anyway. I sat down thinking deeply one day, and I realized on thing: The hadiths are completely stupid and patheitc. Hadiths are a total mess. Yet the fact is, most of Islam is based on hadiths NOT the Qur'an. The Qur'an is a very pathetic book on its own. It is interesting, yes, but it is very shallow. So Muslims need hadiths. But the hadiths are bizarre, corrupt, and hilarious. The corruption is so very, very evident. I still think the Qur'an is better than the ugly Jew-invented Bible, but hadiths are actually much more shameful. When I realized this I couldn't believe in Sunni Islam anymore. But I also couldn't be a Qur'an-only Muslim because of how stupid that is.

So then, I searched the Internet and found Wiki Islam. And I discovered that nearly 100% of everything I thought was miraculous in Islam is totally false and made up by corrupt Muslims like the Saudis. It's all a business based on lies. Very dirty.

With that, it was 100% clear Islam is not the truth, and that it is also no benefit to me in this life. So I left very easily. It wasn't much of a decision. Now I am atheist interested in the church of Satan. This site has given me a lot to think about:

[link to see_the_truth.webs.com]

I realize that the site focuses mainly on Christianity, but the points can be applied to Islam as well.

Either way, Islam now sounds totally ridiculous to me. Pretty much everything about it. 5 daily prayers, wudu, etc? WTF? This stuff is impossible to perform right, but somehow Allah expects you to, and if you make a mistake he might burn you alive for it. How cruel. If that is who God is, then obviously he himself is very Satanic, and we're all in a lot of trouble. But I don't know how anyone could practice Islam knowing that it has been exposed the way it has and there is absolutely no proof it is true.

I still think there might be some truth or enchantment in all religions more or less, including Islam, but it's all clearly much different than the religious texts let on. But lately I've been leaning much more towards that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all Jewish-inventions made to enslave the world, and that the truth lies in pagan religions which came before Judaism. I'm a bit interested in Hinduism and Buddhism as well.

Thank you for the answer.

I really understand what you mean. I was born a Muslim & for a long time, I didn't have faith in all the violent bull people love to say, in order to scare the shit out of other people.

people piss me off a lot of time, they believe that performing rituals like robots makes them better people & will grant them heaven for eternity, just like many "christians" believe speaking in tongues & supporting a fascist state will save them.

Fact is that all souls are equal in front of the Creator. You may be muslim, jew or hindu, if you are a materialistic cocksucker, you have misunderstood the purpose of religion & spirituality. Most people nowadays believe in a given faith only out of fear, greed, racism ...

I only understood the purpose of Islam when I went through some very difficult moments & when I started hanging out in nature, around trees and animals.

As for the Quran & the hadith, remember that they are 1400 years old, I don't believe what they say literally, I try to understand the morality of the story & take only what i find useful.

My favorite hadith is the story of a muslim woman who went to hell because she starved a cat to death & the story of a pagan woman who went to heaven because she gave a thirsty dog a bit of water.

Good luck on your quest & beware extremism, it never does good, whatever you believe in.

First of all, there are a lot of interpretations of Islam & shariah, if you turn off your TV/ PC & go visit Saudi arabia, Egypt, Morocco & Senegal, you'll see it very clearly.
I personally know many religious, spiritual egyptians who will die before they let the Muslim Brotherhood implement their hate inspired Shariah. I'm not sure you'll understand what I mean because I suspect you belive Shariah= beheadings,Taliban style life... the official story that people from US/ UK were fed in order to send their children to die in Afghanistan.

Riiiight. God is a trinity. God is three in one. God came to the world as a man, and he took shits and pisses and then killed himself on a cross. And God prayed to himself as well. He impregnated his own mother and that's how he was born. Wait... you realize such doctrines are actually forbidden according to your Bible? (read the Old Testament, the Ten Commandments, etc).

And you realize if Jesus is God, then it was him who ordered all the brutality in the Old Testament? Duh! Derp!

Jesus was actually a fucking retarded Jew who was stupid enough to link himself to Jehovah: the violent barbarian God of the Old Testament who approved of terrorism, rape, slavery, and child molestation.

All verses in the Old Testament which supposedly point towards Jesus' divinity and crucifixion have also been refuted. Not to mention the endless contradictions in the Bible. Jesus is obviously a big idiot for writing that turd!

The reality is that the Jews actually have the balls of Muslims and Christians in a vice regarding these things.

I have no sympathy for Jesus Christ or his whore of a mother. I actually LOL that the Jews slander Jesus and Mary in the Talmud.

Fact is that all souls are equal in front of the Creator. You may be muslim, jew or hindu, if you are a materialistic cocksucker, you have misunderstood the purpose of religion & spirituality.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

No, the Qur'an is perfectly clear on what sort of dogma is to be followed. You can't just cherry pick it for what you like and don't like. You do realize that the Qur'an, hadith, and history paint Muhammad as a terrorist, rapist, enslaver, and child molester? These are just facts and they are part of Islam. If you don't support these things then Islam says you are a blasphemer and Allah will burn your skin off for eternity. It's funny that Muhammad's actions are so reprehensible that even Muslims today are too ashamed to support him.

My friend, it sounds to me more like you're looking for a religion like Buddhism or something. But of all religions, Islam is the far from the things you say it is.

As for the Quran & the hadith, remember that they are 1400 years old, I don't believe what they say literally, I try to understand the morality of the story & take only what i find useful.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

In other words, you're saying that anyone can decide for themselves what Islam is and isn't. This is just what Christians do. Each and every one of you people has your own idea of what your religion is. It's something different to each of you. Unfortunately, this doesn't work with Islam when you look at what its texts say. In fact, it says that thinking like this can get you into a lot of trouble. and this is why Islam is so far removed from reality. It promises to be something that just isn't possible in this chaotic reality.

The truth is you would likely be jailed or executed for saying this stuff in a Shariah (Islamic) country. I know that as an apostate (murtad) my head is at stake and there are millions of Muslims out there who would certainly execute me if they could get their hands on me.

My favorite hadith is the story of a muslim woman who went to hell because she starved a cat to death & the story of a pagan woman who went to heaven because she gave a thirsty dog a bit of water.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

Yeah, I like that hadith too, but unfortunately it is nothing compared to all the brutal and bizarre ones. The whole picture paints Muhammad as a bipolar hypocrite. I don't know why so many religious people are incapable of viewing the whole picture and instead pick a few verses here and there that they like. What a sham to base your entire life off of something so flimsy. But I know your type and you probably have your own justifications for not following certain strict Islamic laws.

Good luck on your quest & beware extremism, it never does good, whatever you believe in.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

Extremism is a part of Islam. You are a Raafidah. Do you know what that is? It means Rejector. You reject huge chunks of Qur'an and hadith and create your own religion out of whatever you like.

Good luck to you too... I hope you free yourself like I did. If you want sprituality go for something else, don't live in this rigid religion and try justifying it just because you were born into it and you have a boner for it.

First of all, there are a lot of interpretations of Islam & shariah, if you turn off your TV/ PC & go visit Saudi arabia, Egypt, Morocco & Senegal, you'll see it very clearly.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30247752

There may be "multiple interpretations", but unfortunately the Qur'an and hadith speak for themselves. Though you've all but admitted you have your own hypocritical ways to bypass and ignore that stuff. You've created your own religion. How nice it must be to be the only person on earth who knows the true religion!

But seriously, I don't have a lot more to say to you unless you can address the following points:

1) What about Muhammad's terrorism, rape, slavery, and child molestation?
2) What proof is there that Islam is the truth?
3) Since you seem to follow you own guises on blind faith, how do you know that some other religion isn't the truth, and that their blind faith isn't worth more than yours?

@OP
After reading your answers, i understand you were an extremist. The religion of extremists is hate. You were never a muslim to begin with, you never understood the purpose of spirituality. You have to be completely filled with hate/ ignorance to support Hitler.

Oh, I was never a Muslim? Isn't that takfir? It's usually you types who look down on Takfir. But here you are, making Takfir on all Muslims who practice the religion and support Muhammad. Tell me... didn't Muhammad understand the purpose of spirituality? He was out much of the time killing people, cutting off heads, diddling little girls, taking slaves, stealing booty, and raping women.... all under "Allah's" orders.

It would seem you are the one who isn't Muslim. You're just as much Muslim as I am. It's hilarious that most Muslims today can't stomach their own religion. Most of you only stay Muslim because you're too afraid of being executed or rejected by your families.

The truth is Muhammad probably would have cut off your head after having your dick cut off and had all the females in your family raped by his Mujahideen. If you have daughters or wives, they would be war booty to be plucked and plundered. This is all in the Qur'an, documented by hadiths, and I can provide proof. But just go check Wiki Islam, a much better source which covers nearly everything!!

Why not go read it?

Any way... does anyone have more questions for me? This is going slightly off topic now, but I will answer any requests for proof from the Qur'an and Hadith. But it's no secret.

Typical.

Though... I am not a Satanist, but I am looking into that. I am an atheist. But sometimes now I am experimenting with different things, and that Satanist site I posted did give me a lot to *think* about. I have given a few prayers to Satan and the truth is a lot of those prayers have been answered. Still, I agree it may be coincidence, and I lean much more towards atheism and science. I believe there's a far greater chance this universe is all one big mistake, and what we see is what we get. But I will continue to search for other answers.

Believe what you want about me. Cry if you want that I don't bend over for your faggy cock-sucking Christ. But the truth is Christians are just as wrong as the Muslims and Jews. The contradictions in these religions, and pagan origins, are endless. ShaytanUakbar.

------------------------------
------------------------------

I wanted to make a point about Extremist Muslims. I believe they are actually much more likely, in general, to leave Islam than other Muslims. Mind you, I could be very wrong about this. But I go from my own experience. Extremist Islamists already hate and reject most other Muslims. So that's a huge bonus. They don't care if their own people will hate them. The other thing is that they know the truth about their religion. They care. They aren't stupid, and they don't lie about it like some do who don't really care about religion. They know the truth about how ugly their religion is. That's all it takes. They just need to open their eyes a bit more to see the real picture.

The bad part of it is that sometimes their hatred, based upon their religion, becomes personal when their own families are getting killed and bombed, etc. Indeed the Jewish warlords are making Islamic extremism into more and more of a problem through their lead agent terrorist Barack Obama.

In some of your posts you express great anger and disgust at all of the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) -- But now you are indulging in the "fourth" Abrahmic faith -- Satanism.

Shaitan, aka Satan, exists in the Abrahamic faiths, but not in other world religions. One has to believe in the core construct of the Abrahamic religions (One almighty patriarchal 'good' Divinity) to believe in Shaitan.

By rushing to the percieved antithesis of the Abrahamic core belief system, you are clinging to it all the deeper.

Perhaps it would be wise to step back away from the whole Abrahamic world view and research your/ our own natural heritage of pre-Christian beliefs -- the Celtic, Germanic, and Scandinavian beliefs.

We of the temperate forest ancestry have our own rich heritage that is seperate from and has nothing in common with the beliefs of desert nomads.

Perhaps you are right. Believe me, I really do understand what you're saying. But I am not a serious Satanist to boot anyway. And my understanding is that the real church of Satan is atheist and does not even believe in Satan as a real entity, rather they simply exist to mock religion and specifically the church.

I am, however, very serious about my hatred for these specific religions, and especially Jesus Christ.

But with what I heard about Satan as a real entity... what you're saying is actually the whole point. The Satanist site I posted says that "Satan" was a pagan god (Egyptian god 'Enki' I believe) who created us. He has no relation to the false Abrahimic religions, in fact those religions were created as an attempt to slander 'Satan' and create a lie regarding a god that doesn't exist, which is supposed to be much more powerful than 'Satan'. But I do realize this may be completely wrong and you may be right.

But WTF is the temperate forest ancestry??

Please explain the passage in the Koran that tells martyrs they will recieve 72 virgins in Heaven?
 Quoting: redhed6971

[link to wikiislam.net]

I believe all your questions, and more, will be answered there.

The Qur'an does not specifically mention 72 virgins, but it does say that believing men will have (sexual) companions in paradise. The 72 virgins stuff are in hadiths. I suggest you read the link because it's very interesting and I guarantee there will be stuff you didn't know. Also, a common myth is that the 72 virgins are for martyrs or suicide bombers only, but the truth is Islam promises these for every believing man who makes it into paradise (Jennah).

Indeed Islam promises great rewards for those who commit Jihad and fight and kill disbelievers. And it is true that Jihad is also offensive, in fact some of Muhammad's final orders were to continue Jihad until Islam dominates the entire globe. You can read about all this on the Wiki Islam site, with citations from the biggest amount of Islamic sources I've ever seen (even on a pro-Islam site).

Also, funny that the "Islam is peace" guy dropped out of this conversation and couldn't defend a word he said. Truly, truly hilarious people. It's sad, actually. But at least it proves my point.

Also OP, before joining Islam, were you aware that those who leave Islam (apostates), are to be killed, under sharia?

Or did you learn about this, after becoming a Muslim?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe most who join Islam, are aware that apostates are to be killed, until after joining Islam.

Let me also ask, there's been some criticisms, that wikiislam is biased, and even 'hate speech'.

From what you found at the site, is it accurate and truthful about Islam?

The facts and citations speak for themselves. Nearly everything on Wiki Islam is true even if they do get some (not many!) facts wrong. You just have to know how to reference the stuff for yourself. Wiki Islam already has almost all their information referenced for you. They show you quotes straight from the horse's mouth. Some of the stuff I even believed in as a Muslim, and I studied Islam a lot while I was Muslim. You just have to read the Qur'an to see how hateful, angry, and violent it is. And when you know some of it in context - it is much worse.

Of course Muslims are going to look at it as hate speech, because Islam tells them to, in fact Islam really does say to kill those who insult Islam. And Muslims are also ashamed of Islam and hate hearing the truth about it.

Just like anything else, Wiki Islam is not infallible and they certainly do make mistakes here and there. I cannot endorse everything they say either, but that doesn't mean most of it isn't right. What I don't like about the site is that its view seems to be that Islam is the worst, and all other religions, especially Christianity, are alright. They seem to be trying to gather Christians together to hate Islam, even though most of the Ex-Muslims they quote from are now atheist. I do not support this type of agenda since I am against religion in general. So yes, Wiki Islam does seem to have a bit of a bias, but then again, they have many editors. No amount of bias can change most of the facts they give, especially when you read them in context. Just read some of the Islamic "miracles" they debunk on there. Science in the Qur'an? What a joke. But these are all "miracles" which make 99% of converts excuse their conversion to Islam and which "prove" Islam to be right. Without these miracles, Islam has no proof, and the very reasons why Islam is supposed to be right, are wrong. Forget any corrupt morality in Islam.... these facts alone prove Islam wrong without judging its moral criteria. Sure, I do wish Wiki Islam would be truthful about contradictions in other religions, but that's human bias for you.

For what it's supposed to be, Wiki Islam is the best source on the web. You don't have to look any further to find out the truth about Islam.

Hehehehehe.

I do think most converts are aware of it, but then again a good chunk of them are stupid, stupid people who can be easily overestimated. A lot of them convert without even thinking about it. They barely do any research and they just believe whatever their friends and Imams tell them. But they're ready to mouth you off and call you stupid if you disagree with them, lol. They think they know it all. I've been slandered by a great deal of them, as a Muslim, just for not following their agenda of making Islam seem awesome and peaceful to the entire world.

I'd say it's 50/50 whether or not converts to Islam know about the apostasy rule, give or take. I'm not too sure. And a lot of them are also in denial. They might know about the rule but they'll still deny it's part of Islam.

I did in fact know about the executing apostates thing when I converted to Islam. I guess that's one of the reasons it took me so long to leave... not because I was scared, but rather the idea of being such a lowly, filthy being who deserves to be executed repulsed me. I didn't want to be that. In Islam, one who leaves the religion is considered to be the worst scum on the earth, worse than anyone you can think of.

When I converted, I was just so convinced by all of Islam's "miracles" that I felt I had no choice, out of conviction of truth, but to convert. So I didn't care about anything else. I have to admit I also did it likely out of rebellion and etc. Basically a different sort of a goth phase. I also was tired of life, and at the time it felt like Islam was the only thing that could hold me up and give me something to live for.

BTW, I've heard sound fatwa which said that women who leave Islam are not to be executed, rather they are to be imprisoned for life until they return to Islam, and given daily beatings until they do so :-P. With men, I believe they are imprisoned for 3 days where they attempt to convince them to return to Islam, and if not, they are executed. I've already had a Muslim tell me that I should possibly be crucified for leaving Islam.

Then again, of course the same rule of executing apostates exists in the Old Testament.

There's no way Moses would let one of the Israelites leave the religion. Same thing as Mo'hammed. And over course in the middle ages Christians also practiced the same thing.

Re: Ask an Ex-Muslim anything
Many muslims are leaving the violent cult free to do so as they emigrate to the west. Unlike OP they do not get into Satanism. Of course OP is just setting a trap and playing a game, not a real Satanist.

Many other Muslims have actually left Islam. Especially women leave. Usually all it takes is to be around others since in their own country it is illegal to convert away from Islam. In the west free to convert if they are in the schools around other non-muslims they can see exactly what they have been involved with this religion. This is why the Muslim community tries to keep their people separate in Islamic schools, so they dont lose people!

We are told Adam and Eve sinned. Did God kill them? Obviously not. Cain murdered Abel. Did God kill Cain? No. In fact God set a mark upon Cain that no one else would kill him.

Before the flood there was great wickedness among an earth full of disbelievers. God allowed it to get to that point of people with free will to do so.

The only time there was a death penalty for any sin was during the Temple priesthood theocracy of Israel. This period was needed for God to purify his people coming out of Egypt and so they may bring forth the Messiah.

Since 70 AD destruction of the Temple there has been no theocracy among Hebrews or Christians.

The middle ages was Rome claiming to be 'christian'. They are responsible for their own crimes, not all of Christianity. They Bible does not support their claims to be 'christian'. Many of the victims were Christians. Nobody has ever been killed for not being Christian or converting from Christianity (again Rome is not christian, it is Catholic).

It is great you left the Muslim/Islam teachings! However, do not ever criticize my God! You have no idea of what you speak of! You will soon find out on the day of your reckoning! Have you not seen evidence of the blasphemy you speak of? Learn, seek, and you will find Him in you! You are a Lost Soul! I feel sorry for you!

Also, about apostasy in the Bible, this was for believers living with Israel claiming to be a believer. If they wanted to leave they were free to go. There were even cities founded by the twelve tribes the convict could escape to for a second chance existence where they were protected from retribution avoiding any death penalty yet remain in the faith and Israel.

Shaitan, aka Satan, exists in the Abrahamic faiths, but not in other world religions. One has to believe in the core construct of the Abrahamic religions (One almighty patriarchal 'good' Divinity) to believe in Shaitan.
 Quoting: goodmockingbird

 Quoting: ShaytanUakbar

We who are of Celtic, Germanic, or Scandinavian heritage come from cool forests, instead of stark desert. Our people adapted to farming in settled villages, and changing tasks with the seasons -- not moving goats from one hot desert to another hot desert under one stark blinding sun like the Abrahamic nomads.

We come from the forests, in tune with the powers of nature that dictate agricultural life. We have our own heritage as hunters, gatherers and farmers.

Life in northern Europe and the British Isles caused us to listen to nature, and to perfect our skills at living cooperatively with one another both as families, and as peoples. We value diplomacy, since we had to plan for the winter, and work cooperatively to put away food.

The traditional skills of women are naturally valued: Gardening, sewing, putting away foodstores. Women play a full life as full members of our society.

Our heritage, and our millenia of built up life skills are distinctly different from those of goat herders.

We are farmers, householders, warriors, and business people.

We have our own pantheon of "natural forces" and indwelling heritage, and as expressions of Divinity.

Look into your/ our own heritage, and step free from the Abrahamic paradigm.
