i get what you are saying, but in extreme cases like the US where 16 million people legally own guns and even assault rifles, then there maybe COULD be some effect on the death rate, at least some effect on the shocking frequency with which these mass shootings are occurring

its a far more nuanced discussion that most people on here, including yourself, are using

honestly, by the time you get to the point where people are saying teachers should be armed, then its too late. america is stuck with this issue

Anyone who thinks you can get guns in the uk is misled at best. I could go out today and buy half a dozen easily, it getting ammo thats the difficult part. How about making it law that all teachers MUST be armed.

It's a lot more than "16 million". More like 50-90 million.

And the "assault rifle" thing is a media creation. An AR-15 is a .223 cal rifle, a small round. It's on the low end of power, as rifles are concerned.

It's not used for deer hunting, as it's not a big enough round.

It just looks scary to those who know nothing about rifles.

And of course since we banned guns we dont have any gun crime in the UK anymore. Thanks Labour you socialist pieces of shit
