This guy is clearly pro guns. {shame on him}. You can make a million argument as to why people are the problem,(and they are}, but they couldn't cause such heart breaking and brutal harm if they didn't have the guns to kill people with. Spoons do not make people fat.....pencels do not cause spelling mistakes.......nor do they cause such heart breaking death and distruction.

I really dont give a flying fuck what you think Aussie. Stay in the Southern Hemisphere butt fucking kangaroos for all I care, and mind your own business.

Enjoy your carbon tax and continued bowing to the UN.

A very weak argument.

Shame on him for being pro guns? Why? Guns protect innocent people again and again. The news often fails to report this through deliberate omission.

Taking away guns has been shown to INCREASE violent crimes, not decrease them. Look at the numbers, not the "problem-reaction-solution" scenarios our gun-grabbing politicians want you to emotionally consume without thinking.

This woman was FOOLISH for letting her son -- who was on an anti-psychotic drug (Fanapt) known to produce violent behavior as a FREQUENT side effect -- have access to and train on her guns. I think perhaps SHE needed the meds more than him as that's just totally bizarre and stupid.

Why punish the world for one person's stupidity?

Instead, we must do what we can to maintain everyone's right to PROTECT THEMSELVES from this kind of utter stupidity.

My argument about spoons makes far more sense than the pro-gun ban arguments I read day in and day out. In fact, it makes total sense. People kill themselves with their knives, forks and spoons far more than guns will EVER be used to kill others, yet nobody blames the utensils they kill themselves with.

I'm surprised there isn't an "Ban the Assault Utensils" lobby, because these evil instruments of death are most certainly the cause of so much "heart-breaking death and destruction" in the form of causing heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, and most other dietary-related diseases. Utensils are FAR more dangerous than guns will ever be!

Ban all spoons, knives and forks NOW! They are killing our parents, siblings and children!

See how ridiculous it sounds?

That's how pro-gun ban folks sound to those with common sense.

That is an outstanding video, but it upset me so much I couldn't watch past the 3:30 mark. Very frustrating to see this.

And, 20% of the votes here in this thread appear to support this.

If they experience a home invasion, see their wife or kids get raped and/or murdered by a gun-wielding assailant, maybe then they'll open their eyes to the tragedy of banning guns to where only the criminals have them.

I hope that never happens to anyone, of course, but if it's going to happen anyway, it may as well happen ONLY to those in favor of banning guns, as their ignorance will be what invites this type of avoidable tragedy in the first place.

You wrote a great letter OP.

You got a canned response from a Senator who doesn't and wont agree with you and doesn't care how much work you put into your letter. I know. I've gotten the same kinds of responses from my Senators and Reps before.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

I'm not a fan of Michael Moore, but I agree with him here 100%:
