There were 192 shootings in Chicago throughout the month of November - a 49 percent increase from a year earlier - according to police records obtained by the Chicago Tribune.

Total homicides in Chicago rose to 480 for the first eleven months of 2012; a 21 percent increase from last year. On November 30, 2012, there were four fatal shootings within the city. These murders brought the homicide total to 38 for the month, just above the 37 recorded in November of last year.

Despite having some of the strictest gun laws in the country, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel plans on restricting gun ownership further by banning individuals with a violent misdemeanor conviction from getting a gun permit for five years. The mayor also hopes to ban convicted felons from ever owning a gun.









Kennesaw, Ga once again was in the news on May 1, 1982, when the city unanimously passed a law requiring “every head of household to maintain a firearm together with ammunition.” After passage of the law, the burglary rate in Kennesaw declined and even today, the City has the lowest crime rate in Cobb County.

Gary DeMar, who lives near Kennesaw writes about the virtually non-existent murder rate,

In fact, from 1982 through 2009, Kennesaw had been nearly murder free with one murder occurring in 2007.

There were three murders in 2010 committed by the same man in what is described as a “school safety zone,” an area extending 1,000 feet from any school, including adult colleges and technical schools. This means that even though Kennesaw has the most liberal gun laws in the United States, employees at the facility where the murders were committed could not have a gun on the premises.

At this rate, they could easily send us all back to the stone age with all these taxes and then there really would be a Rock Throwing Violence Task Force.

How can people be so out of touch with reality that they would actually accept this crap, you'd think it weren't possible but we're seeing it right before our very eyes.

Don't forget, when more people lose their jobs (will get worst) - then denied disablity or Unemployment benefits or food stamps or medi-cal (etc..) - more violence will occur. We're in for a ride for sure.

I feel everyday on the news that they talk about fiscal cliff is another way of making us sick and tired of hearing it and for the US to say ok...whatever - save us no matter what and make the darn deal....then it will be a deal that plays into the NWO - UN currency maybe ? I don't know, I'm not an economisist - but if the Federal reserve ends on the Dec. 21st or 22nd like anther GLP thread says...then - we're in for some kind of crappy deal as they are in control.

every weekend there are murders in major cities where gun control is the strictest. why do they never address this problem? oh wait, inner city dwellers are obummer/dem voters, we can't have them upset now can we?

When has gun control become an issue of the Federal Gov. It is State regulated.
