Vice President Joe Biden is expected to lead the White House task force to examine more gun control legislation, but back in 2008 he did everything he could to convince voters that his running mate supported the Second Amendment.

“I guarantee you Barack Obama ain’t taking my shotguns, so don’t buy that malarkey,” Biden said to voters during a campaign stop in Castlewood, Virginia on September 20. “Don’t buy that malarkey. They’re going to start peddling that to you.”

Biden informed the crowd that he was the proud owner of two guns.

While the village idiot that is Joe Biden is well known, it appears likely what the Obama administration is doing here is placing “Uncle Joe’ into the gun control mix as a means of appearing mainstream on the issue. Take a gun owner, give him a script that says he is now re-considering his views on gun ownership, and then convince enough Americans and national politicians to do the same.

The Obama administration pushed for and received healthcare mandates – legislation that now allows them to control every facet of your life if they so choose, from how you live, to how you will die.

Once they control your ability to defend yourself, there’s not much you can really do about it now is there?

Exactly right. Here's what may very well happen:

Laws will be enacted going after the 'scariest' guns as well as more stringent registration for all others.

Buy-back programs will be funded coast-to-coast.

Then, after an announced 'grace period', house-to-house visits will be done for everyone with a gun registration or application to search for non-registered firearms.

At the same time, PSA's will be rolled out everywhere asking people to turn in friends or family that have unregistered firearms and people like cable installers, carpet layers, handymen and contractors will be enlisted to inform on clientele where firearms have been observed. These names will be cross-referenced and checks will be followed up on.

I'm not psychic but this seems to be where they are going. An all-out confiscation scheme would result in many patriot stand-offs and a lot of bad publicity (a nation-wide Ruby Ridge would be bad PR).
