I think I know what OP is trying to say:
I believe he is saying that since there are so many low income and jobless right now, that they are begining to turn to video games a la Zenga.
This could be true - it would be interesting to chart the dynamic between jobless rate and see if there is a surge of online gaming say, since 2008....
