Funny thing is that air heats up as it falls so Day After Tomorrow does not really work.

Poor thing.. but imo it has nothing to do with a "day after tomorrow" senario. I think it was caught in the ice and i guess it is not new to the people who live there (maybe rare to stand like this)

That is wierd, Have the same thing going on in Alaska with fish frozen outside the lake ice in November.

simple, fox on ice, fox falls through ice, fox cant get out, fox dies.

Scientists say that what happened in that movie is impossible. I wish they'd make disaster movies based on something that can really happen. So many of these movies nowadays are based on imaginary disasters. In order for a disaster movie to be effective, it must be based on some extremely unlikely but possible disaster.

My favorite disaster movie at this time is "Melancholia." Its worth watching for the music alone. Magnificent! Part 1 of that movie is a bit confusing, but Part 2 more than makes up for the deficiencies of Part 1.

Anyway, the jet stream does not dip and instantaneously freeze anything. If such an event was possible, it probably wouldn't be that rare, and life on earth might not be able to survive.

I once did find a dead fox in the woods, it was laying in the bushes frozen. This is how they die, not during their daily walk over to the river lol

This happens to animals up north every winter. My husband was driving through Detroit one winter day a few years ago and saw a cat frozen stiff. The cat had frozen to death while walking.

Heck, people can and have frozen to death in the US' northern states in winter if caught outside without appropriate winter clothing.

Even big animals like buffaloes freeze to death in the cold.

Seriously, people ...

It's the same way people burn from the inside out, human combustion. only this time it was frozen from the inside out.

We have all have cold & hot flashes, it's the same way for animals too.

This poor fox, seemed to have an extremely cold flash of energy running through its body.

I have seen this once; it was the blizzard of 96. Flocks of Birds were frozen to the roads flapping their wings but could not fly away. You had to run them over because if you stopped you would be stuck. My daughter had just been born and we were driving home, I was scared to death, wife was crying. One of the scariest things I have ever seen.

I remember the forecast very well, it was supposed to be a very mild storm 1-3 inches…Next thing I know in a matter of minutes I was stuck in one of the storms of the century with a new born…

The ground was warm but the wind chill was something like -21 so the birds would fall through the inch of slush ice on the road and be frozen in.
