Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3188128 why? they all look like the same fox used in all photos....plus the third photo doesnt have a trail leading up to the corpse look closely at the photos... There are a couple of pictures there that look like it could be as simple as a fox falling in the water, drowning and it freezing over. BUT There are a few (mainly where they are coming out of the water) that makes me wonder... Maybe it has to do with this.... |
WindyMind User ID: 955168 United States 12/19/2012 02:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One day I was driving and it was the kind of day where ice was on the trees. At the end of a driveway was a dog standing still frozen stiff, one ear up and one ear down. People don't believe me but maybe after the foxcicle pictures......one ear up and one ear down standing. Really. It was even stranger because the dog was not that far from his house. |

The end. Sometimes thinking before OMG IT'S ALIENS!!! helps. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18758861 Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Anonymous Coward User ID: 27809228 United States 12/19/2012 03:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OK, last night, in Southern California something REALLY REALLY strange happened. It's abnormally cold out right now, but last night in particular was very odd. The weather reports said high 30's, but I went outside around 1:45AM to have a cigarette. There was no breeze, just a solid amount of air moving en masse all at the same 3MPH-5MPH pace, and it was FREEZING cold. When I walked outside, the ambient temperature had to have been roughly 32F, freezing. However, in the proceeding minute, the temperature dropped almost 10 degrees, and it did so suddenly. It was like a curtain of air from the upper atmosphere just dropped down to the ground as a giant bulk of air. I had never felt anything like it before in my life. Already freezing, 32F, then in a matter of 10 seconds the temperature dropped to about 22F. I immediately started to shiver and put my cigarette out early to go back inside. Bizarre to say the least. Does such a thing happen often? I'm in the foothills, I figured it was freezing air that just dropped down in altitude and hit the ground. |

Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. |

Crazy Harriet User ID: 29170615 United States 12/19/2012 03:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not going to try and judge the fox stories but it's well known in the west (to the old timers) that storms caused people to be killed in their tracks. Used to run a line between the house and barn so they didn't get lost during blizzards and could find their way back to the house. We considered doing that one year in the 90's, in the northern rockies. Those with long memories here will recall taht 13,000 sheep were buried alive in a few meters of snow that fell overnight in Iceland last October, many of which were rescued but many more that died. ;-) [link to www.kgw.com] "I would rather take a political risk in pursuit of peace, than risk peace in pursuit of politics." - Donald Trump |

That is a distortion of facts invented by none other than Nancy Lieder. After what I experienced last night, I'm a firm believer in flash-freezes. I felt the temperature drop 10F in less than 10 seconds. If that could happen at an altitude of 1100FT above sea level in the foothill of Southern California, I imagine that at a higher elevation, somewhere with a higher latitude, it could drop upwards of 40F or 60F in the same amount of time. If that happened, you can bet your ass that flash-freezing will take place. What about the forests of pine trees that are buried with their needles still on underneath hundreds and/or thousands of feet of ice in Antarctica? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27809228 United States 12/19/2012 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I imagine that there is a tipping point to temperature regulation on our planet. Once a certain overall global temperature is achieved, it will cascade into a (pardon the pun) snowball effect that ends up chilling the entire planet, producing more snow on the ground, reflecting more heat back into space instead of absorbing it, leading to a further a chill. They had proven with mud-core samples from Scotland that the Greater Dryer period, the last mini-ice age, took place in a matter of 18 months, not decades/centuries like previously thought. The planet cold snapped in a span of 2 winter seasons, killing off massive amounts of foliage. |
