Since the bus also serves Freedom High School, the Tampa Police Department is now questioning and searching students on that campus, as well.

A bullet was also found on a bus yesterday that served students from Turner Elementary, Liberty Middle and Wharton High. A Wharton student later told officials he found the bullet in his apartment complex and it fell out of his pocket.

All Hillsborough County schools are on modified lockdown this week in response to the shootings in Newtown, Conn., district officials have said.

'Bizarre' man prompts school lockdown, then steals car and drives to hospital

St. Cloud police said a bizarre-acting man prompted a school lock-down Tuesday morning, before stealing a vehicle and driving himself to an area hospital for treatment.

Police received several phone calls about 6:20 a.m. about a man, later identified as 40-year-old Glenn J. Bay, running through neighborhoods and acting strange. Callers said it appeared he was on drugs and acted bizarre.

At about 7:15 a.m., police said, Bay walked onto Lakeview Elementary property and asked an employee to call 911. School was not in session and no one was threatened.

Police said after Bay asked for help, he ran away. The school was placed on lock-down as a precaution.

Bay then came into contact with a family in the area of Fifth Street and Columbia Avenue, who were inside their Ford Expedition, police said.

Bay asked to be taken to a hospital, but the family went inside and called 911 because of his strange behavior.
