A heat pipe burst in the center of the capital of Ufa. As many as 155 facilities and more than 9,000 people found themselves in the disaster zone. School classes were canceled. It took specialists nearly 24 hours to eliminate the consequences. Another part of Ufa was left without electricity for nearly 8 hours. Five districts were left without electricity and heat in the Altai region of Russia. Nearly 8,500 people were left to the mercy of fate and extremely low temperatures. In Makhachkala, the snowfall, which began on Saturday night and did not stop until Monday, paralyzed the work of public transport. " "27 died and 147 others were hospitalized with frostbite" Good post OP! This is awful....regardless of cold everywhere else...when many are dying and hospitalized...this is very important news! **The first step to salvation is to realize that we are all sinners: Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 30107351 12/19/2012 05:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com] December 19, 2012 – CLIMATE – ...The study found that heat waves will become more severe in most regions of the eastern United States and, that both the Northeast and Southeast will see a drastic increase in precipitation. The findings are published in Environmental Research Letters. ...“Instead of studying regions, which is not useful when examining extreme weather, dynamical downscaling allows us to study small areas such as cities with a fine resolution,” said Fu, who is also a professor within the UT-ORNL Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education (CIRE). The researchers evaluated extreme events along with daily maximum and minimum temperatures and daily precipitation. For the 23 states east of the Mississippi River, they analyzed the present-day climate from 2001 to 2004 and predicted the future climate from 2057 to 2059. This is the first study to predict heat waves for the top 20 cities in the eastern U.S. For example, Nashville will see a temperature rise of 3.21 degrees Celsius and Memphis will see a rise of 2.18 degrees Celsius. In comparing present climate to future, the researchers found that heat waves will become more severe throughout the eastern part of the nation. The Northeast and eastern Midwest will experience a greater increase in heat waves than the Southeast, which will almost equalize the temperatures between the future North and current South. wtf do they mean by 'future north and current south'? |

Quoting: IAM LEGION yes, just saw that a few minutes ago... [link to imgur.com] That is from Norway last year. We also found a fish trapped similarly. As for the fox it turned out it had been killed by some hunters but fell off a cliff. Some kids later found it and dumped it like that and created the flash freeze angle. If you look closely at the photos you can see the fox has been lying on its side for a while before ending up in that position. |

The guys a fucken troll obviously....its minus 30 in January and February in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba every year.....dress warm and stay in doors or in your car...lol...Russa is just as cold, so I dont know what the hell the posts about... Actually, there are some short-term weather predictions for Siberia and Northern China to match all-time lows this week, -50 (F) or below. Coldest snap since Putin took office in 2001, when there was a similar event. We'll see how it plays out. Hope it's a false alarm and everything stays in normal range. Still, with the power outages it's going to be very difficult for people. They have community utilities, so if the city power goes out all the homes go cold. That happened in 2001 and has started this week as well. I remember hearing of folks with homes at -15(F) inside their homes...in 2001. “I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you”. Friedrich Nietzsche |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7815861 ah ha now you have got it right....... so if the above statement is correct, how the hell can your statement above that one also be correct? you said: 'so -20 F is colder than -20 C' which is incorrect.... because -4 is warmer than -20 jesus christ -- draw yourself a number line or something right I am getting pissed off now. You made a big mistake and you are trying to wriggle out of it. This will be the last post on this matter. you said in this post: Thread: Flash freeze in Russia!!! WTF is going on??? (Page 2) 'so -20 F is colder than -20 C' you said 'colder'......-20 F is warmer than -20 C then when you realised your mistake you correctly changed your answer and put the correct one. now fook off well, no not trying to wriggle out of anything -20 F is colder than -20 C by 9 degrees C, to be precise. I loved this argument... Go Canada!!! Here's one... -40c = -40f |
