That's what I was going to ask, this was temperature last week while I was driving. I was out and about. I did wear longjohns, hat, mitts and a scarf though, I was bundled up.

hopefully the Russian cold front doesn't move in here. I hate freezing temperatures, damn disgusting.

I have lived in Canada all my life minus -20 to -40 celcius is normal winter weather here, and minus 20 is normal for northern USA as well. In Toronto for instance the summers are between 18 and 40 plus in summer and -10 to -35 in winter.

You know what it tells me? They were too poor to keep warm. Communism sucks.

Sudden drops in temp are normal in northern climates.
We have had it drop over 30 degrees in less than an hour, it's winter, it happens. Flash freezes take place every year.

You have to dress for the weather. -30c can be quite invigorating to walk or shovel in. Burns mega calories.

Ha, ha, my UPS driver is still wearing his shorts, says it's only -10c, not ready to give them up yet.

unless you are homeless, I have seen dead homeless people in downtown Calgary who froze overnight. Russia probably douse not have social services as good as ours mind you I know next to nothing about today's Russia and how good the social programs are there. You would think being Russia most of the housing would have excellent heating and insulation but maybe all the money is still going to the rich instead of the needy.

the neighbor lady who lives down the road from me has so many christmas lights up on her property now that im sure some jetliners are gonna mistaken it for the airport and land

of course it's dangerous -- and it get that cold in parts of the nwt and iqaluit at times. but it's not like siberia hasn't seen those temperatures before. if it were -50 in Moscow that would be news, but it's above -30.
