Yes.
I would have thought there will be thousands of Russian technicians living and working in Damascus, to keep all this kind of hardware functional & working.
If they die in an Israeli nuclear strike on Damascus, which the Russians would see as an over the top response by Israel, then.....well....the Russians could be in a near state of war with Israel....to say nothing of Syria's allies the Iranians.
